Diagnostic Imaging: Advanced Technology for Earlier Detection Diagnostic Imaging Services at West Florida Hospital provides inpatient and outpatient services in the following areas: n General Radiology n Nuclear Medicine n Ultrasound n Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) n Computed Tomography (CT) n Interventional Radiology n Digital Mammography n Mobile Mammography Unit offering Digital Mammography n Bone Density Testing Diagnostic Imaging Services utilizes a state-of the-art PACS (Picture Archiving and Communications System), that acquires, stores and retrieves diagnostic images. Oncology Surgical Services Surgical Oncology Surgical oncology is a specialized area that engages surgeons in the care and management of cancer as a coequal partner with medical oncologists and radiation oncologists. This multispecialty approach combines advanced surgical care with appropriate therapies, such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy and ablative therapy. Robotic Surgery: The da Vinci Si HD Surgical System West Florida Hospital utilizes the da Vinci Si HD Surgical System, the latest evolution in robotics technology. The da Vinci System provides surgeons with an alternative to both traditional open surgery and conventional laparoscopy, enabling surgeons to operate with unmatched precision and control using only a few small incisions. Surgeons at West Florida Hospital use the da Vinci System to treat various types of cancer, including prostate and gynecologic. The oncological surgeon performs local tumor excision, regional lymph node removal, the handling of cancer recurrence and in some cases, the surgical resection of metastases from the primary tumor. Three-Year Accreditation with Commendation The West Florida Cancer Program is a recipient of a three-year accreditation with commendation from the American College of Surgeons. 8 Outpatient Rehabilitation Patients requiring physical therapy, occupational therapy or speech therapy may be eligible for care at the West Florida Rehabilitation Institute. Our experienced rehabilitation team includes registered physical therapists, licensed occupational therapists, and speech/language pathologists. The West Florida Rehabilitation Institute offers rehabilitation programs for inpatients seven days a week. Outpatient rehab programs are scheduled Monday Friday.
