Editing images for photo-only banners* Open Photoshop Determine if photo is wide enough On the top menu, select Image > Image Size Photo must be at least 720 px wide to crop without blowing up the photo. If photo is not 720 px wide, it s probably not going to work. Pull the full-res if available, but follow the next steps to make sure you ll like the crop. Cancel out of Image Size window In the Tools menu (open menu from top menu Window > Tools): Select the Crop tool Options appear on the top, enter the following in the appropriate boxes: Width: 728px (you can tab to the next) Height: 200px (don t forget the px, PhotoShop might default to inches and blow up the photo) Resolution: 72 (make sure pixels/inch is selected) Drag the crop tool over the image. You will see how the image will look once cropped. Rearrange the crop box until you are happy. You can rotate the crop selection box by hovering near the corner of the selection. Double click to crop. From the top menu, adjust the zoom if necessary. If it looks good at 100%, you did it right :) Try it again by selecting Edit >Step Backward from the top menu. *After cropping images that look terrible at 728 x 200px, you will gain an appreciation for harsh horizontal photos.
View Image Size. Enter Width, Height, Resolution.
Make selection to preview the crop. Rotate or adjust. View the result.
