From Fabric, cut: - fi ve 2 x WOF strips + Trim fi ve to 41-1/2 lengths for the row sashing - six 3 x WOF strips + Sub-cut three strips into eight 3 x 12-1/2 sashing strips + Sew the remaining three strips together, end-to-end. Then cut two 56 lengths for the side sashing. - ten 2-1/2 x WOF strips. + Sub-cut forty-eight 2-1/2 x 5-1/2 rectangles and forty-eight 2-1/2 squares. - forty-eight of Template B These will be referred to as the small triangles From Fabric B, cut: - forty-eight diamonds from Template From Fabric, cut: - eight 3 x WOF strips + Sub-cut fi fty-two 3 x 5-1/2 rectangles - forty-eight diamonds from Template ** For Vintage olorstory, cut these pieces from Fabric N. From Fabric J, cut: - two 3-1/2 x WOF strips + sub-cut thirty 3-1/2 squares, then cut each in half once on the diagonal - four 3 x WOF strips + sub-cut fi fty-six 3 squares - one 2-1/2 x WOF strip. Sub-cut six 2-1/2 squares From Fabric K, cut: - one 3-1/2 x WOF strip + Sub-cut eight 3-1/2 squares, then cut in half once on the diagonal. These will be referred to as the large triangles. ssembling the Blocks The quilt center is made of twelve blocks, in four different styles. rrange pieces on a work surface in groups fi rst, then begin sewing. Marked dots Begin by sewing the diamond units in pairs, starting and stopping on the marked dots. [Tip: Note that in each block half of the pairs will be mirror images of each other.] Repeat process for all diamond pairs in the Blocks. Marked dots Sew a Fabric small triangle triangle (Template B) in place with each unit from the previous step, starting and stopping on the marked dots. Repeat for all Fabric triangles, creating units for all Blocks. Sew two units from the previous step together with one 2-1/2 Fabric square, starting and stopping on the marked dots. Repeat process for all units. Marked dots Sew a large triangle to the Block units. Repeat the process for all units. Sew together four pieced Block units with four 2-1/2 x 5-1/2 rectangles and a center 2-1/2 square. Repeat process for all Block units. Each block should measure 12-1/2 x 12-1/2. page 5

dd the Sashing rrange the Blocks into four rows of three blocks, referencing the Quilt ssembly Diagram (found on page 8). Sew a 3 x 12-1/2 sashing strip between the blocks in each row. Press seams toward the sashing. Sew the 2 x 41-1/2 row sashing strips between each row and to the top and bottom of the quilt center. Press seams toward the sashing. Sew the 3 x 56 sashing strips to the left and right sides of the quilt center. Press seams toward the sashing. dd the Inner Border Sew a 2-3/4 x 46-1/2 inner border to the top and bottom of the quilt. Press seams to the border. Sew a 2-1/2 x 60-1/2 inner border to the sides of the quilt. Press seams to the border. ssemble the Outer Border Blocks Sew a Fabric F and H triangle together along the longest edge, creating a half-square triangle (HST). Repeat to create forty-four HST units, trimming each to 5-1/2 square. Place a Fabric G square RST at one end of a Fabric rectangle. Sew along the diagonal, pre-marking if necessary. Trim seam allowance to 1/4 and press toward the triangle. Repeat to create twenty-six units. With remaining Fabric rectangles, sew along the opposite diagonal, creating mirror images of the blocks in the previous step. Repeat to create twenty-six units. (Four of each style will be left over for the orner Blocks) Note: For Garden olorstory, the rectangle here is Fabric D. Sew a Fabric G and J triangle together along the longest edge, creating a half-square triangle (HST). Repeat to create sixty HST units, trimming each to 3 square. (Set aside four for the orner Blocks) page 6

Sew a Fabric J 3 square to the HST as illustrated. Figure 1 Repeat to create thirty. (Eight HSTs will be left over for the orner Blocks) Sew the remaining twenty-six together as illustrated in Figure 2. Repeat, sewing the border to the top of the quilt. page 7
