Sew the B 2¼ x 26½ Border 1 strips to top and bottom edges of the panel. Pieced Border a. Sew (1) C, (1) D, and (1) E 2½ Pieced Border strips on the long edge; repeat with the remaining strips. Cut into (26) 2½ x 6½ CDE units. C D E 2½ x 6½ Cut 26 b. Sew (5) CDE units to make a top pieced border; repeat for the bottom Pieced Border. Sew onto the top and bottom edges of the quilt center. c. Sew (8) CDE units to make a left side Pieced Border and remove the last E 2½ square; repeat for the right side Pieced Border. Sew onto the left and right sides of the quilt center. Frosty Forest 3

4 Border 2 a. Sew (3) F 1½ Border 2 strips end to end and cut into (2) 1½ x 50½ strips; sew these strips to the left and right edges of the quilt center. b. Cut the remaining F 1½ Border 2 strips into (2) 1½ x 32½ strips and sew onto the top and bottom edges of the quilt. Border 3 a. Sew (3) G 1¾ Borders 3 & 4 strips end to end, and cut into (2) 1¾ x 52½ Border 3 strips; sew onto the left and right edges of the quilt. b. Cut (2) 1¾ Borders 3 & 4 strips into (2) 1¾ x 35 and sew onto the top and bottom edges of the quilt center. Appliquéd Snowflakes a. Use your favorite method to prepare (10) snowflakes and appliqué a snowflake onto (5) H and (5) I 5½ squares. a. Draw a diagonal on the wrong side of the (160) G 2 squares. With right sides together, place a G square on the right, top corner of a J 5½ square and sew on the diagonal line; trim the excess fabric leaving a ¼ seam allowance and press the G square towards the right, top corner. Repeat with the remaining three corners. J G b. Follow the previous steps with the remaining (7) J 5½ squares, (8) K 5½, (7) L 5½, (7) M 5½ squares, and the (10) snowflake appliquéd squares. 5 c. Follow the diagram to assemble the left and right side s, paying attention to the direction of the fabric; sew onto the quilt center. Right border Left border d. Follow the diagram to assemble the top and bottom side s; sew onto the quilt. Top border Bottom border Border 4 a. Sew (3) G 1¾ Borders 3 & 4 strips end to end and cut into (2) 1¾ x 65 Border 4 strips; sew onto the left and right side of the quilt center. b. Sew the remaining G 1¾ Borders 3 & 4 strips, plus the leftover G 1¾ from Border 3, and cut into (2) 1¾ x 47½ Border 4 strips; sew onto the top and bottom of the quilt center. Border 5 Sew a N 5½ x 63½ Border 5 strip from the Owl stripe design to the left edge of the quilt; repeat on the right side. Border 6 Sew the (3) H 1½ Border 6 strips end to end and cut (2) 1½ x 57½ strips; sew onto the top and bottoms edges of the quilt center. Border 7 Sew the N 8 x 57½ Border 7 strips to the top and bottom edges of the quilt center. Finishing Quilt as desired and bind with the (8) O 2¼ Binding strips. Frosty Forest 5
