Click on the picture for a better view... DJPower Main Screen DJPower is a full encompassing program to meet all the needs of a modern and professional DJ. This will be a brief overview on the basic uses of DJPower(r). It will guide you through its main concepts and uses. On the image above, we have designated, by numbers, a few areas of the main screen. FOLDERS and SONG LISTS: On start up, DJPower scans your computer for songs... On the right side of the main screen you'll find the list of folders in which the songs on your computer are stored. It is The "Folder List". Clicking on a folder name in that column will display that folder content into the area on its left, called the "Songs List". There you will see the list of all the songs contained in that folder. Click on a particular song in the songs list, to select it, and it's data information (if any) will appear in the window below the list. That window can be shown or hidden by clicking on the info icon on the bottom right. To update the song information, unlock the window and fill in the appropriate data. You can use the incorporated BPM counter to set the BPM for the selected song. You can also see the title of the selected song across the top bar of the Single Player. It will allow you to hear the song through your headphones, if you have them connected to a second sound card. You can use the secondary player to edit any song in real time. Marking its start and end point while monitoring it, and then smoothly mix it right from the headphones to the main sound system. The secondary player can also be shown/hidden using the headphone icon on the bottom right.

PLAYING and MIXING MUSIC: To select and play songs in DJPower, choose first a folder of songs to open, select the songs you wish to play and either double click on them or "drag and drop" them to the "Play List". The "Play List" is placed in the center of the main window. It contains the list of songs that you have chosen to play. In the order you want them to play. On top of it, you will find the main playback buttons for the "To Play" window. In the center is the manual mixing bar, you can slide it left and right to mix into the next song. On the bottom you'll find the list of songs you have already played, the latest one being at the top of the list. Now click on the Play button. You can control the playback of your songs by changing the Volume or Pitch with their corresponding slider bars. If you wish to save a Volume or Pitch level for that particular song, you can do so by clicking on the Save icon. Below is the Mixing Control. You can choose the type of mix you want by clicking on any of the left & right pictures. or by dragging the Blue & Red Lines in the mixer control. Hitting the "Skip" button, will mix the current song into the next one on the Play List. You can change the length of the mix by moving the slider bar. SELECTIONS and DRAG'N'DROPS: DJPower follows Windows standards and uses the "drag and drop" method, which is very easy to use. If you are unfamiliar with this method, simply click your left mouse button on an item you wish to move. While holding down the left mouse button, drag the item where you would like to drop it, and then let go of the mouse button. This method is used for almost any operation, such as adding songs rearranging the Play List, creating links, etc. You can drag the songs from any area on the screen to many other areas. While "dragging and dropping", the cursor will change to a white arrow within a tiny box. If the mouse arrow changes to a circle with a line through it, inappropriate area. it means you have attempted to "drop" in an Using the "drag and drop" method, you can drag songs from almost any area on the screen to any other area that you want. The "drag and drop" method is used for almost any operation, such as to create your "Play List", to add and to cancel songs, to rearrange the existing play list, to perform express recording, to play, erase, copy, and transfer songs and special effects, and more.

BUTTONS, ICONS & MENUS: The buttons along the top of the "Play List" allows you to (in order): Clear list, Save/Name list, delete songs from list, bring a song to top, stop playback before a song, insert No Mix command, Song Association, Save current song settings, open Song Info, Shuffle list, create delays, reset defaults, Show/Hide columns, and Print/Save list. BEAT MIXING: To use the Beat Mixer feature, you'll need two channels (for the headphones and the main playback). This can be achieved by using two sound cards or by splitting one stereo channel into two mono channels (see Options/Sound Cards). The DJPower Beat Mixer works directly with the main DJPower Play list. Open the Beat Mixer Window by clicking on the Beat Mixer icon at the bottom of the main screen. You can open the Beat Mixer window at anytime during playback, and return to the main screen again just by closing the Beat Mixer window. The slider in the bottom center allows you to preview your mix, while the slider just above it allows you to do the actual mix. The jog wheels allow you to locate the search points. In the lower left-hand corner is a beat counter. This allows you to select the BPM for a song if it is not already in the system. To do this, click on the appropriate letter and then tap the spacebar on your keyboard to the beat. When done click "OK". The red and green buttons are used very similarly to those of a standard dual CD player. You can save your cue points in the numbers above. You can do pitch bending with the "Bend" button and BPM matching with the "Match" buttons. KEYBOARD SETTINGS: RECORDING STUDIO: DJPower comes with a complete recording studio that allows you to record your music in stereo or mono, compressed or uncompressed. This allows you to record the music you want, the way you want it. You can record directly from your CD-ROM or any external source such as a CD player, tape player, mini disk, etc. During the recording process, you are allowed to name and organize your music. The recording Studio is simplistic in that it allows you to record, compress, and normalize with the click on one button.

NO COMPROMISE ON QUALITY: DJPower makes no compromise on quality, it incorporate a very high quality playback engine that is even better than a regular CD Player. DJPower's unique engine supports a graphical equalizer with 3 to 24 adjustable frequencies bands as well as a pre-amplifier. It is the software only DSP equalizer with the best quality/performance in the market. BEAT MIXING/EDITING: DJPower Graphic Equalizer Click on the picture for a better view... DJPower also has a single song play window that allows marking of a song and if you have two sound cards, allows you to listen to two songs simultaneously. This feature also allows for manual and automatic beat mixing. In a Technological breakthrough... DJPower offers a Unique Mix feature between sound cards! You can hear the song playing on a secondary sound card through your headphone, and smoothly mix it to the main sound card. Finally the real thing is available as an add-on. VIDEO OPTION: Fully programmable video playback on second screen. Can be used for music videos, karaoke, presentation videos and more. Mix your video and audio transitions seamlessly. CONTROLS: The controls for playing the songs are similar to a standard tape deck or CD player. An extra control allows you to pause the music by fading it out and fading it back in. MIXING/VOLUME/PITCH: The Control Panel includes volume and pitch control with the ease of a scroll bar, or the click of a mouse. The panel also has a mixer/fade control that allows you to choose the length of the mix/fade, and allows you to choose manual mix or auto mix. For convenience, the mixer includes four preset configurations that you can customize. Clicking on the progress bar will "rewind" or "fast-forward" the song. DJPower Control Panel

INFORMATION SEARCH & ADJUST: With the click of a button you are able to pull up information on any song. This will include the song name, the location on your hard drive, the type of song it is, the length of the song, and information that you have entered such as the genre, artist, BPM, artist, year, etc. With this information, DJPower allows you to search for all the songs that have a common theme. This pop-up window is also capable of saving parameters of each song, such as volume, pitch, delay time, bass & treble. MULTI TASKING: If there are any actions taken in the computer while music is playing, such as opening another program or using other features within DJPower, the music will not be effected. This feature is unique to DJPower, and is because of new developments in technology that have exceptional abilities. COMPRESSION The DJPower program combines very powerful compression technologies that allow you a high compression rate without compromising or diminishing the quality of the sound. This kind of compression allows you the ability to store on your hard drive all that you need for many hours of music.
