FINLANDIA TROPHY 2015 ANNOUNCEMENT The Finnish Figure Skating Association is pleased to announce the FINLANDIA TROPHY 2015 and the International Senior Invitational Competition in Short Program for Synchronized Skating. GENERAL The International Senior Invitational Competition for Synchronized Skating, held in conjunction with the Finlandia Trophy 2015, will be held in accordance with the ISU Constitution and General Regulations 2014, the ISU Special Regulations & Technical Rules Synchronized Skating 2014 and all relevant ISU Communications. Participation in the Finlandia Trophy 2015 is open to teams who belong to an ISU Member and qualify with regard to eligibility according to Rule 102, provided their ages fall within the limits specified in Rule 108 (paragraph Age limits for Synchronized Skating), and they meet the participation, citizenship and residency requirement in Rule 109, paragraphs 1 through 5. Passports of all skaters, as well as the ISU Clearance Certificate, if applicable, must be presented at the accreditation of the event for verification. PLACE AND DATE The Finlandia Trophy 2015 will be held in Espoo, at Barona Areena, from October 8 to October 11, 2015. The Synchronized Skating Short Program competition will be held on Friday October 9. The ice rink is situated 25 km from the Helsinki Airport and about 40 minutes by car. TECHNICAL DATA All competition events and practice sessions will be held at Barona Areena in Espoo. The rink is indoor and heated. The size of the rink is 30 m x 60 m. The required elements to be skated are those listed in ISU Communication 1934 and subsequent updates. INVITED MEMBERS The Finlandia Trophy Organizing Committee is pleased to invite Synchronized Skating teams from the following countries: Germany, Russia, Sweden and the USA. ENTRIES The Organizer reserves the right to limit the number of entries to eight (8) teams. The Organizer confirms the accepted teams after the closing date for entries. All Teams must be entered and all Judges nominated only through their respective Member Association/Federation. 2
The preliminary entries must reach the Organizer by Sunday, August 16, 2015 and all final entries not later than Tuesday, September 8, 2015. The Panel of Judges in the Synchronized Skating event will consist of five (5) Judges. The Referee and the Technical Panel members will be invited by the Organizing Committee who will also cover their travel expenses.. ACCOMMODATION AND EXPENSES Teams The Teams are responsible for their own travel, accommodation and meal expenses. Judges, Referees and Technical Panel The Organizer will provide accommodation and meals for all Judges, the invited Referee and the Technical Panel at the above mentioned hotel beginning with dinner on Thursday, October 8, through lunch on Saturday, October 10, 2015 if serving only in the Synchronized Skating competition. Other Team Members Other team members (Team Leaders, Coaches) are responsible for their own travel, accommodation and meal expenses. All bookings are to be made with the Organizer by September 8, 2015. The Organizer cannot guarantee the availability of rooms for bookings which are received after that date. All payments shall be made upon arrival at the hotel. The number of three-bed rooms is limited. Official Hotel Rate: Sokos Hotel Tapiola Garden Single room: 88 /room/night, including breakfast Tapionaukio 3 Double room: 99 /room/night, including breakfast 02100 Espoo, Finland Three-bed room: 110 / room/night, including breakfast MUSIC AND MEDIA INFORMATION, PLANNED PROGRAM CONTENT SHEET All Teams shall furnish competition music of excellent quality on CD or MD format, in accordance with Rule 823. All discs must show the Competition event, team s name, nation and the exact running time of the music (not skating time) and must be submitted at the time of registration. Short program must be recorded on one track and on a separate disc. In addition, the team must provide a back-up disc for short program. A list of titles, composers and orchestras of the music to be used for the Short Program must be listed for each Team on the official Music Selection Form and sent to the Organizing Committee. If music information is not complete and discs not provided, accreditation will not be given. 3
The Program Content Sheet must be returned with the entry forms to the Organizing Committee in time. It is mandatory that the Program Content Sheet must be filled in precisely by each team in English using the terminology for the elements listed in the respective ISU Communication. It is not permitted to hand over the Program Content Sheets directly to the acting Officials. ACCREDITATION / REGISTRATION Accreditation will take place at the official hotel, Sokos Hotel Tapiola Garden. The accreditation desk will open on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 18.00. Please be advised that Accreditation will be given to all appointed Judges and Teams Delegations officially entered and named through their National Associations as follows: Skaters 20 skaters per team Team Leaders one per country Team Managers 1 per Team Official Coaches 2 per Team Team Service Personnel 2 per Team Team Medical Personnel 1 per Team DRAW AND JUDGES MEETINGS The draw for the starting order of the Short Program will take place on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 20.00 (place will be announced). The first Judges Meeting for the Challenger Series Finlandia Trophy (Singles and Ice Dance) will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2015 and the SyS Judges seating order is drawn then. The first SyS Judges meeting will be at the ice rink on Friday October 9 at 19.30. The Round Table Discussion will take place on immediately after the victory ceremony on Friday evening October 9, 2015. The venue for the meeting will be informed to the Judges at the first Judges meeting. SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE The Official Hotel is located approximately 3 km from the Ice Rink. Shuttle bus between the Official Hotel and the Ice Rink will be provided by the Organizer from Thursday to Sunday. ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE Upon request, the organizer will arrange transportation from/to Helsinki Airport/Railway Station to/from the official hotel. A fee 390 will be charged for each Team. Please contact the organizers if needed. RESULTS AND PRIZES The marking system (ISU Judging System) as described in ISU Technical Rules Synchronized Skating 2014, Rule 843 (Determination and publication of results) will be used. The Organizer will award 2000 to the team placed 1 st. Payments will be made through the respective National Associations as per ISU Rule 102. The withholding tax will be deducted according to Finnish law. 4
ANTI-DOPING Anti-Doping tests may be carried out as per ISU Communication 1922 and 1941 or any later update of the Communications. TEAM PHOTO For the Official Program, we would like you to send us a team photo of your team(s) in digital form by Tuesday September 8, 2015 at the latest. LIABILITY In accordance with ISU Rule 119, it is the sole obligation of each Member participating in the Finlandia Trophy 2015 to provide medical and accident insurance for their athletes, officials and all other members of the ISU Member s team. Such insurance must assure full medical attendance and also the return of the ill or injured person to the home country by air transport or by other expeditious means. The Finnish Figure Skating Association assumes no responsibility for or liability with respect to bodily or personal injury or property damage incurred in connection with the competition to/by Teams Skaters and Officials. 5
