Get To Know Your Remote The Comcast universal remote control is already programmed to operate the Comcast set-top box. All you need to do is insert the batteries. You can also program the remote control to operate your TV and an additional entertainment device. The quickest way to program the remote is to follow the instructions provided in the plastic sleeve with the remote control. It s the only power button you need. Press to explore the huge collection of XFINITY On Demand movies, shows and more. Press while you re watching a show or browsing listings and the program will record automatically to your DVR. Want quick access to your DVR recordings and features? Press and the easy-to-use DVR menu will appear. With DVR service, takes you back 15 seconds in a program. blocks access to a channel or program. Press to move forward in time by half-hour increments, or press to jump ahead 24 hours at a time. When viewing TV Listings by time or by channel, press to toggle between the two options. While you re watching TV, press to access a miniguide. TV Listings are color coded to help you scan for your favorite programs. LANGUAGE SETTINGS: Select SETUP from the Main Menu and then TEXT LANGUAGE SETUP and/or AUDIO SETUP to change the language of the on-screen menus or audio language of the channels and programs.
CLOSED CAPTIONING: You can access Closed Captioning through the guide if you have a high-definition (HD) set-top box connected with HDMI or component cables. Press twice to view the Main Menu. Select SETUP then either CLOSED CAPTIONING SETUP or SUBTITLE SETUP to turn captions on or off and adjust other Closed Caption settings. Customers with non-hd set-top boxes need to refer to the TV manufacturer s instructions. MESSAGES: When an envelope message indicator appears on the Main Menu and/or TV Listings screens and a red light appears on the front of the set-top box, select MESSAGES from the Main Menu to view. MUSIC: To access the music channels, select FIND SHOWS from the Quick Menu, then MUSIC. Highlight your selection and press. Favorites Create up to 5 Favorite Lists of channels you watch most often. Press twice and select FAVORITE LISTS SETUP. To name your list, use the buttons on your remote to navigate around the on-screen keyboard. Press to select each letter and SAVE to accept. Select to add or remove favorite channels and choose your favorites by pressing. Save your list by selecting. To lock your list, choose and follow the prompts. To exit, select or on your remote. FAVORITES OPTIONS ACCESS FAVORITES LISTS: While watching TV, press on your remote. Continue to press to scroll through your favorite channels. From the Guide, press and use to view your favorite channels. Continue to press to scroll through all saved lists. ADD OR DELETE FAVORITE LISTS: From the Main Menu, select SETUP, then choose FAVORITE LISTS SETUP and NEW to create a new list and to delete. ADD OR REMOVE FAVORITE LIST CHANNELS: From FAVORITE LISTS SETUP, highlight a Favorite List and press. Select to add channels or press it again to remove channels.
DVR Schedule your DVR to record a favorite series automatically or record a great movie or event, then watch it when you want. 1. Press on your remote control while watching TV to record a show. Or, while viewing TV Listings in the Guide highlight the program you wish to record and press. 2. Press and select MY RECORDINGS to watch shows you ve recorded. Select a program to play. You can record a series by pressing twice while viewing TV Listings and selecting SERIES RECORDING. allow you to skip ahead or back in 5-minute intervals. You can search for shows and then set auto-recordings for programs that match your search criteria. Parental Controls You have the ability to prevent your kids from seeing programs or channels you don t want them to watch. To set Parental Controls quickly, set Movie Rating and TV Rating Locks. These locks block both XFINITY On Demand and TV programming that has the ratings you select. RECENTLY VIEWED: When you stop a program, most shows are saved for up to 48 hours; however, most programs under 20 minutes are not saved. To access, go to the On Demand Main Menu and select RECENTLY VIEWED, highlight the program and view the program information to make your selection. ANYROOM ON DEMAND: Everything within Recently Viewed is available on all the set-top boxes in your home. You can start watching a program in one room, stop and resume watching in another.
