The Media and Technology committee with the guidance of the CST and Media specialist will begin implementing the use of the leveled library in reading classes at all grade levels. Materials will be purchased to support the Orton-Gillingham techniques. Teachers will implement strategies in reading classes for both whole group and small group instruction. Teachers will examine student performance data during D3 Meetings (Data Driven Discussions) to guide instruction. Teachers will compile data notebooks to facilitate data review and planning for instruction. Teachers will provide remediation and enrichment during Team Time for identified students. Action Steps for this initiative to be completed in 2013-14 D3 Meetings will be scheduled by the administrative team on the master calendar. Staff members will be assigned grades to support by the administrative team. Grade level team members will participate in D3 discussions. Data will be collected and stored in the red data notebooks. Teams will utilize data to plan Team Time instruction. Students needing more intensive remediation in math will be identified and participate in Extended Team Time for additional math instruction. Grade level teams will determine standards to focus on and student placement based on the level of support required for the students. Team time is held Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7:45-8:15 beginning August 27 th. Extended Team Time (math) is held Monday through Friday from 7:45-8:15 during second semester for fourth and fifth grade students. What data will be collected to monitor progress on this initiative?
