The installation of this accessory should follow approved guidelines to ensure a quality installation. These guidelines can be found in the Accessory Installation Practices document. 1. Vehicle Preparation a. Apply parking brake. b. Place removed vehicle components on a protective blanket. c. Using the protective blanket, cover front seat, side of the shift lever and center console. d. Disconnect Negative terminal on the battery. 1. Remove trunk floor mat and cargo floor cover (Fig. 1-1). Fig. 1-1 2. Using hands, lift out cargo tray and remove (Fig. 1-2). Fig. 1-2 3. Remove right hand floor trim panel by gently pulling up (Fig. 1-3). Fig. 1-3 Page 4 of 15

4. Using hands, remove plastic battery access cover (Fig. 1-4). Fig. 1-4 10mm Ratchet/Socket 5. Remove the negative ( ) battery terminal using a 10mm socket/ratchet (Fig. 1-5). CAUTION: Do not touch the positive terminal with any tool during removal. Fig. 1-5 Panel Removal Tool 2. Vehicle Disassembly a. Remove shifter bezel. NOTE: Cover shift lever with appropriate protective wrap to prevent any damages. 1. Using your hands or appropriate panel removal tool, disengage the clips and remove the shifter bezel (Fig. 1-6). NOTE: Apply protective tape to any pry area if using panel removal tool. Fig. 1-6 2. Disconnect all connectors and set aside. Page 5 of 15

b. Remove center console bezel/cup holder. 1. Using your hands, disengage clips and remove center console bezel/cup holder (Fig. 1-7). NOTE: Center console/cup holder bezel may stay attached to HVAC/Radio bezel at right hand side. Carefully disengage or remove together with HVAC/Radio bezel in Step (C) and separate the 2 pieces later. Fig. 1-7 Panel Removal Tool c. Remove Radio/HVAC trim bezel. 1. Using your hands or appropriate panel removal tool, disengage the clips and remove (Fig. 1-8). NOTE: Apply protective tape to any pry area if using panel removal tool. 2. Disconnect all connectors and set aside. Fig. 1-8 d. Remove the HVAC assembly. 1. Disengage the HVAC assembly by pulling straight out (Fig. 1-9). 2. Disconnect all connectors and set aside. e. Remove START button 1. Using hands, disengage the Start button bezel (Fig. 1-10). 2. Disconnect any connectors and set aside. Fig. 1-10 Socket (10 mm), Ratchet f. Remove the radio assembly. 1. Using a 10 mm socket/ratchet, remove the four (4) radio bolts (Fig. 1-11). Fig. 1-11 2. Gently pull out the radio (Fig. 1-12). NOTE: Use a suitable protective support to prevent scratching of dash panels. Be careful not to put too much tension on the radio connections when pulling out the radio. 3. Unplug all connectors and set radio aside. Fig. 1-12 Page 7 of 15

Panel Removal Tool 3. BLU Logic Switch Installation - Option I NOTE: Check to see if there is an open knock-out to the right of the steering column, below the START button. If blank knock-out is present, continue with Step #3. If not present, skip to Step #4. a. Remove blank knock-out from switch location. 1. Disengage by releasing lock tabs from behind. Fig. 1-13 NOTE: If using panel tool, protective tape must be applied to pry area to avoid scratching the surrounding panels (Fig. 1-13). 2. Insert BLU Logic switch and feed connector back toward radio opening. NOTE: Solid white arrow should be pointing up (Fig. 1-14). Fig. 1-14 3. Connect switch to switch extension cable (highlighted in blue, Fig. 1-15). NOTE: Switch extension will connect to interface module later. BLU Logic wire ties in Figure 1-15 and the remainder of these instructions will be shown in yellow. 4. Continue to Page 12 of 15, Step 5 once complete. Fig. 1-15 Page 8 of 15

4. BLU Logic Switch Installation - Option II NOTE: Skip to page 12 of 15, Step 5 if BLU Logic Switch Option I was used. a. Remove the driver side doorsill trim. 1. Using hands or trim tool, pull up to disengage clips (Fig. 1-16). 2. Remove doorsill and set aside. Fig. 1-16 b. Remove Driver s side kick panel. 1. Remove plastic nut located on the forward edge of the kick panel (Fig. 1-17). 2. Disengage kick panel and remove (Fig. 1-17). Fig. 1-17 Phillips Screwdriver c. Remove lower dash switch panel. 1. Remove the Phillips screw at the bottom left of the lower dash switch panel (Fig. 1-18). Fig. 1-18 Page 9 of 15

2. Gently pull back on the lower section of the switch panel to disengage the clips (Fig. 1-19). 3. Disconnect any connectors and remove. Fig. 1-19 d. Remove hood latch cable. 1. Remove hood latch cable by gently pulling the cable assembly back and sliding it out of the bracket (Fig. 1-20). 2. Swivel the cable end 90 degrees until the cable lines up with the slot and to release it from the latch lever. Fig. 1-20 e. Mount the BLU Logic switch. 1. Squeeze the locking tabs together and push out to remove the upper, left blank knock-out. NOTE: If upper left blank knock-out is occupied, use next available blank. 2. Mount BLU Logic switch in place of the blank knock-out (Fig. 1-21). Fig. 1-21 NOTE: Solid white arrow should be pointing up. 3. Set switch panel aside. Page 10 of 15

f. Route the switch cable (highlighted in blue). NOTE: Knee SRS airbag was removed for visual purposes. DO NOT remove for install. 1. Wrap the switch extension cable with 33cm of 1/4 split wire loom, leaving 4-5 inches of wire exposed on the switch side. Secure split wire loom with tape. 2. Route the switch extension cable behind the plastic brace (Fig. 1-22). 3. Secure the receptacle end to the existing wire harness with wire ties circled in Fig 1-22. Fig. 1-22 NOTE: Provide sufficient slack to connect to the BLU Logic switch. 4. Continue routing the switch wire behind the knee airbag, up along the air duct, to the right of the steering column and over towards the opening of the radio cavity. 5. Secure to existing wire harness and air duct with wire ties circled in Fig. 1-23. CAUTION: To avoid injuries, be careful when routing cable around sharp metal brace. Fig. 1-23 NOTE: Secure cable so it does NOT contact the metal bracket. Side Cutter 6. Finally, secure switch extension wire to harness left of radio opening as shown in Fig. 1-24. 7. Cut off any excess wire ties. g. Reattach the hood release cable. h. Connect BLU Logic switch to the extension cable. i. Reconnect any other connectors. j. Reinstall switch panel, kick panel and doorsill plate. Fig. 1-24 Page 11 of 15

Side Cutter 5. Routing the Microphone. a. Route microphone wire (highlighted in blue). 1. Route microphone cable through dash behind START button bezel towards radio cavity (Fig. 1-25). 2. Secure microphone cable to existing wire harness circled in Fig. 1-25. Fig. 1-25 NOTE: Leave 5-7 inches of slack to allow microphone to be mounted to START button bezel during reassembly process. Side Cutter 6. Interface Module Installation a. Connect main power harness (highlighted in orange) to interface module. NOTE: The Red connector is connected to the matching Red connector on the module. 1. Connect microphone and switch extension harnesses to interface module. 2. Bundle up excess microphone and secure to main power harness with wire tie (Fig. 1-26). Fig. 1-26 Side Cutter b. Mount the module behind HVAC controls. 1. Preload four (4) wire ties onto the interface module. 2. Use two (2) wire ties to attach module to plastic cross brace behind the HVAC controls marked by red arrows in Fig. 1-27. NOTE: DO NOT remove the protective foam wrapping on the module. Fig. 1-27 Page 12 of 15

Side Cutter 3. Use two (2) additional wire ties to attach the module to the metal bracket on the left and right side of radio cavity marked by the red arrows in Fig. 1-28. Fig. 1-28 Side Cutters c. Connect the main power harness to the matching vehicle s radio harness (Fig 1-29). NOTE: If AVC-LAN (12 pin) connector is present on vehicle-side harness, connect to the corresponding 12 pin AVC-LAN receptacle connector on the BLU Logic harness. If the factory 12 pin AVC-LAN vehicle-side connector is not present, then fold back the 12 pin AVC-LAN receptacle connector on the BLU Logic harness and wire tie leaving the connector unplugged. In either case, connect the 12 pin AVC LAN pronged connector from the BLU Logic harness into the back of the radio. Fig. 1-29 Side Cutter d. Secure main wire harness. 1. Secure the main wire harness (highlighted in blue) to the existing wire loom with wire ties marked with the red arrow in Fig. 1-30. 2. Cut of excess wire ties. e. Reinstall radio NOTE: If any other accessories are installed that connect to the head unit, BLU Logic should be the unit that plugs into the radio first. Fig. 1-30 Page 13 of 15

7. Mounting the microphone. a. Clean the START button bezel with VDC approved cleaner. 1. Mount the microphone on the top left corner of the bezel to minimize the amount of exposed wire visible to the customer. 0-8 mm of exposed wire when the bezel is installed is acceptable (Fig. 1-31). Fig. 1-31 2. Wrap the microphone wire around the back-side of the bezel. b. Reinstall the Start button bezel. NOTE: Confirm steering wheel movement from tilt/telescopic operation does not contact wire. c. Reinstall the HVAC/Radio bezel, Center console/cup holder bezel and the shifter bezel. d. Reinstall Negative terminal on battery. NOTE: If the battery clamp nut cannot be accessed for torquing to the recommended specification without removing additional panels and/or other components, you may change (reverse) the direction of the battery clamp bolt and nut. Battery must be torqued to correct torque. 48 in-lbs (5.42 N.m). Fig. 1-32 Fig. 1-33 Page 14 of 15 CAUTION: Do not touch the positive terminal with any tool during installation. e. Place the owner s manual in the glove box. 8. Apply BLU Logic decal to BLU Logic switch. (Only kits manufactured on or after the date code on the front page will include the BLU Logic decal). a. Remove the protective backing on the round portion of the BLU Logic sticker (Fig. 1-32). b. Apply it to the center of the switch so that the sticker hangs towards the right as shown in Fig. 1-33. NOTE: Photo shown may not match the switch installation location for this vehicle and is for illustrative purposes.

CHECKLIST these points MUST be checked to ensure a quality installation. Make sure radio and interior lights (if applicable) are turned off. Install fuse (short pin) for the following function checks. Accessory Function Checks Check: Factory Radio Interface Kit Audio Output Vehicle Function Check Vehicle Function Look For: Turn on the radio and verify that the BLU Logic Module will mute the audio. With the radio on, press the middle button on the BLU Logic switch and verify that the audio is muted. Verify the proper connection of the Interface kit by pressing and holding the middle button on the switch until you hear one (1) beep. NOTE: Pairing the module to a phone is not required. This is the customers (or dealers) responsibility. Turn the radio to an AM or FM station and then turn the balance to the L and confirm the audio is coming from the left front speaker. Repeat for the right front speaker. Vehicle Function Detail Audio AM/FM Verify the proper operation of audio AM/FM. Hazard Switch Verify the proper operation of the hazard switch. HVAC Verify the proper operation of the air conditioning system. Mirror Switch Verify the proper operation of the mirror switch. Clock Verify the proper operation of the clock. START Button Verify the proper operation of the START Button. Hood Release Latch Verify the proper operation of the Hood Release Latch. IP/Cluster Dimmer Knob Park/EV Mode/Eco/Power Mode Switch Verify the proper operation of the IP/Cluster Dimmer Knob. Verify the proper operation of the Park/EV Mode/Eco/ Power Mode Switch. SRS Warning Light Kit Service Information Confirm SRS warning light illuminates for approximately 6 seconds with the ignition ON, and then goes out. Turn off all components including radio and interior lights. Remove fuse (short pin) after function checks are complete. Check with your dealer/port to find out if this step is required. Item: 1 3-Amp in-line Fuse Page 15 of 15 Location: The fuse is located behind the HVAC assembly. To replace, follow Step 1-12 to access the fuse location. NOTE: If the fuse is blown, the Hands Free BLU Logic will not turn on.
