PAePay Bail Online Payments System Where is the PAePay Bail Online Payments System? The PAePay Online Case Payments is located on the UJS Portal at http://ujsportal.pacourts.us The UJS Portal is the home page for all of the electronic services available from Pennsylvania s Unified Judicial System. Once the page opens, hover your mouse pointer over ecommerce at the top of the page and then click on PAePay Bail. The reference guide that follows this page provides step-by-step instructions for making a bail payment from the PAePay Bail Online Payments site. Before you make a payment, however, please review the information below. What is the PAePay Bail Online Payments System? The PAePay Bail Online Payments site provides the public the option to submit electronic bail payments on Magisterial District Court and Common Pleas Court cases. Payments are accepted using Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and ATM/Debit cards. Payments can only be processed online for counties that have chosen to participate in the PAePay Bail Online Payments program. A full list of participating counties is available on the website. Are there anything technical requirements I should know before accessing the website? Due to the technology used in creating this site, Internet Explorer 7 and above with JavaScript and cookies enabled are recommended for the most satisfying user experience. Pop-up blockers should also be disabled and the reporting functions on the site require Adobe Acrobat Reader. Note: Many smart phones and tablets have trouble displaying the PAePay Bail site. Consequently, use of an internet-ready desktop computer or laptop is recommended to make bail payments. Is there anything I should know before making a payment? Submission of an electronic payment through this website does not guarantee the release of a person from custody. The person that assumes the responsibility of paying bail on a case and completing the bail-related documents is called the surety. If you are acting as the defendant s surety, after you make an online payment you will need to contact the court or prison where the defendant is incarcerated in order to complete the bailrelated documents before the defendant can be released. If you are making a bail payment but are not acting as the defendant s surety, you will need to contact the court or prison to advise them that payment was made so the defendant can be released if all conditions of bail have been satisfied. Any questions regarding a refund of your bail payment should be directed to the court. How do I get additional help? If you are unable to make a payment using the reference guide, the CPCMS Help Desk is available (Monday- Friday, 7:30am to 5pm) to assist you with any issues you experience on the UJS Web Portal. They can be contacted by phone at 1-877-227-2672. The Help Desk is not equipped to accept payments by phone. For any questions regarding cases or bail, contact the court where the case is held. 1
