The boards are symmetrical. The boards have the following measurement tolerances: thickness: ± 2 mm length: ± 5 mm width: ± 2 mm 4. Fields of application Litex Membrane Board can be used as a vapourtight and watertight layer on walls and floors in bathrooms and washrooms in houses, hotels and in rooms with equivalent conditions. The application as a watertight layer requires the use of reinforcement Strip over joints, fasteners and connections between floor and wall. Cl. 7 give additional requirements for use. The boards may be installed directly on a wall framework or other substrate such as brickwork or concrete, including walls below ground level. The boards shall always be covered by ceramic tiles or equivalent non combustible lining, such as 8 mm thick wall rendering. Properties related to fire The XPS core material is classified as Class F according to EN 13501-1. Reaction to fire for Litex Membrane Board without surface protection has not been determined, i.e. Class F according to EN 13501-1. Covered by ceramic tiles the surface complies with Class In1 according to NS 3919. 6. Environmental aspects Substances hazardous to health and environment The product contains no hazardous substances with priority in quantities that pose any risk for human health and environment. Chemicals with priority include CMR, PBT or vpvb substances. Effect on indoor environment The product is not regarded as emitting any particles, gases or radiation that have a perceptible impact on the indoor climate, or to have any significant impact on health. Waste treatment/recycling Litex Membrane Board shall be sorted as residual waste on the building/demolition site. The product shall be delivered to an authorized waste treatment plant for energy recovery. Wet liquid membranes are defineded as hazardous waste (according to the Norwegian regulations on waste treatment (Avfallsforskriften)). The product must be sorted as hazardous waste on the building site. The product must be delivered to an authorized waste treatment plant for hazardous waste. Environmental declaration No environmental declaration (EPD) has been worked out for Litex Membrane Board. 7. Special conditions for use and installation Storage and contitionering The boards shall be covered during storage and transport to avoid dust or dirt that may reduce the adhesive bond properties of the board surface. The boards must not be exposed to flames, other ignition sources or organic solvents. The product should be protected from UV radiation during long-term storage. Underlay The underlay for installation of Litex Membrane Board shall fulfil the requirements for directional- and surface tolerance class PB as given in NS 3420 Part 1. Påstrykningsmembranene Hey di K10, F1 Membran, Norflis Våtromsmembran, Hey'di Smøremembran, Serpo 554 Smøremembran Flex, Optiform smøremembran og Alfix 1K Tætningsmasse Membranes Liquid applied membranes Hey di K10, F1 Membran, Norflis Våtromsmembran, Hey'di Smøremembran, Serpo 554 Smøremembran Flex, Optiform smøremembran and Alfix 1K Tætningsmasse can be used together with Litex accessories as waterproof sealing for joints, screws and pipe penetrations. Membranes shall be applied according to the manufacturers directions. Joint sealing on wall In the wet zone, all joints and screw fixings must be covered by Litex Jointing Strip, rubberised or fibre in combination with a liquid applied membrane. The liquid

SINTEF Technical Approval - No. 20006 Page 3 av 5 applied membrane shall cover the reinforcement Strip completely, see Fig. 2. Alternatively Litex Jointing Strip, self-adhesive, can be used to cover joints and screw fixings without using a liquid applied membrane. Joint sealing on floor and floor/wall Litex Jointing Strip, rubberised is used over board joints and screw fixings together with a liquid applied membrane as shown in fig. 2. The liquid applied membrane shall cover the reinforcement Strip completely. At external and internal corners Litex Sleeves External and Internal Corner are applied to the Litex Membrane Board using liquid applied membrane. The sleeves are to be covered bya liquid applied membrane. Sealing at pipe penetrationsin floor and wall Litex Pipe Collars are attached to the underlay using liquid applied membrane. The collar shall be completely covered with liquid applied membrane, see Fig 2. Fig. 3 Example of connection between tiled floor and wall. Installation on framework Boards with a thickness of min. 20 mm may be installed directly on studs spaced max. c/c 300 mm. Thinner boards require a continous underlay of panels or boards. Extra noggings must be used for installation of heavy objects like washstands, cabinets etc. Fig. 2 Principle for sealing around pipe penetrations, over joints and screw fixings. Water vapour control layer Litex Membrane Board meets the required water vapour resistance for external walls and walls against rooms with limited heating. Only sealing over joints, screw fixings and at penetrations is necessary. Any present plastic foil in external walls shall be removed before boards are installed. The boards shall be fixed along the edges with screws and washers intended for installation of the board system. Recommended spacing between screws is max. 250 mm for 13 mm boards, 300 mm for 20 mm boards and 400 mm for 30 mm boards, plus at least one fixing point at every horizontal nogging. For boards fixed to a continous underlay it is recommended to additionally use 3 screws with washers evenly spaced along the center of the board and one screw in the center of the board at the top and bottom sill. All screws shall be at least 20 mm longer than the board thickness.

SINTEF Technical Approval - No. 20006 Page 4 av 5 Installation on masonry or concrete Fixing to masonry or concrete substrates can be done with tile adhesive, see Fig. 4. Boards with a minimum thickness 20 mm can be fastened with adhesive applied in 15 20 spots spread thoughout the board. Thinner boards shall be fastened with a contionous adhesive layer. All loose wallpaper, plaster, paint and dust must be removed before fixing the boards. Absorbing surfaces must be primed. Installation on floor In a distance 0,8 m from the gully the board shall be installed with a slope 1:50 towards the gully. The other parts of the floor should have a 1:100 slope tovards the gully. 13 mm or 20 mm boards can be installed on concrete floors or on a underlay with a stiffness and constructional details as described in Building Research Design Guide 522.861 and 541.805. In floors the boards shall always be covered with minimum 10 mm mortar/adhesive before tile installation. The liquid applied membrane used for joints shall be approved for this application. Fig. 4 Example of Litex Membran Board used on wall against the ground. Sealing around the gully Liquid applied membrane shall be used when applying Litex Drain Collar to the Litex Membrane Board, see Fig 5. Tiling Litex Membrane Board shall always be covered with tiles. The maximum water absorbtion rate for the tiles shall be 20 % for walls, 10 % for floors and 6 % when used with a low profile floor heating system. 8. Factory production control Litex Membrane Board is subject to supervisory factory production control according to contract with SINTEF Building and Infrastructure concerning Technical Approval. Fig. 5 Principle for sealing at gully with Litex Gully Collar. 9.
