PURPOSE. To provide an overview of Reporting-In Day (R-day) and associated schedules for Sunday, 24 June and Monday, 25 June 2012. 2. ACTION. LT Greg Batchelder (x8296) is the project officer. Uniform of the day is Tropical Blue Uniform with combination covers. 3. DISCUSSION. Prospective Cadets of the Class of 2016, in addition to accompanying family members, will be invited to CGA for optional events on Sunday, 24 June 2012. Religious services will be available in the morning and Chase Hall Barracks will be open for tours that afternoon. Cadet Division s Company Officers and Chiefs will be onboard to meet families and answer questions. That evening, Prospective Cadets and their families will be invited to a no-host buffet style dinner in the Cadet Wardroom, followed by a dessert reception in Leamy Hall, hosted by the Parents Association. All events for Sunday, 24 June 2012 are listed in Enclosure (1). a. The Class of 2016 will officially report to USCGA at Leamy Hall, on Monday, 25 June 2012; check-in will begin at 0700. A schedule of R-day events is provided in Enclosure (2). In processing of prospective cadets will continue throughout the day as per the Swab Summer Training Program (SSTP), outlined in Enclosure (3). b. IAW ref (a), parking in lots R, Q, S, T, and N will be reserved for parents, guests, and event volunteers on 24 and 25 June 2012. SUPTNOTE 5560 will cover additional parking & traffic details. c. Depart Washington Parade Field for Dimick Auditorium Lunch will be served in three groups (1130, 1215, 1300) to accommodate large numbers. Parents will have different color tickets issued earlier that morning by Parents Association indicating what time to eat. Parents may also choose to eat at Dry Dock Cafe. CGA instructors and faculty will be standing by during the lunch break to meet and greet parents interested in touring various academic buildings. During this time various members of the Class of 1966 is the sponsor class for the Class of 2016, linking them to the long blue line of Coast Guard Academy graduates. All are welcome to visit with members of the Class of 1966. Station New London presents a static display of the Coast Guard s 25 ft Defender Class boat. The Defender Class was developed in a direct response to the need for additional Homeland Security assets in the wake of September 11 th terrorist attacks. Need to be mustered up at the Parade Field prior to 1500 CG Falcon fly over Immediately following the photograph, parents and guests will have 10 minutes to say farewell to their Cadets. Cadets will be marched to their next military obligation precisely at 1645. 5
