PIPING/DRUMMING/BAND RELEASE, RULES AND ENTRY FORM RULES AND REGULATIONS OF ENTRY INTO COMPETITIONS 1. Individual Competitors: in place of event entry fees, each competitor (solo or band) is eligible to buy an advanced-sale admission wristband (nonrefundable). Every individual must have a wristband to be admitted to the games, whether it be purchased in advance or at the gate. Professional Pipers must pay $10.00 per event. For events 5 and 6, competitors must submit tunes with entry form. Competitors will be notified of tune selection and order of play no later than May 13, 2016. There will be no adjustments to the posted order of play. Event 5 is restricted to the 1 st 20 entries received. Tune changes can be made until May 6, 2016. No tune changes will be allowed after May 6, 2016. Bands: There is a $30.00 registration fee (nonrefundable). Individual Competitors and Bands: Must include a stamped, self-addressed envelope with your payment and entry form. 2. Entries must be postmarked no later than May 2, 2016 and no entries, regardless of postmark will be received after May 7, 2016. NO LATE ENTRIES OR FIELD ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED. (except as stated in Rule 13) 3. Professional, Grade I and II MSR solo piping competitions will be played as one event 4. No person may compete unless Highland Dress and a competitor number are worn. All competitors, including bands, must obtain their numbers at the Registration Office. Bands must display a competitor number on the bass drum. 5. Order of solo competition will be determined by receipt of entry. First received will perform last, and vice versa. If a competitor is not present when his/her number is called, he/she will be subject to disqualification in that particular event. SGAD reserves the right to limit the number of entries in any event in accordance with competition rules as set forth by EUSPBA. In such case, after the maximum number of competitor entries for an event is received, subsequent entries will be returned along with the entry fee. A random draw will be conducted no later than May 14, 2016 to determine the band competition order of play and bands will be notified via e-mail. 6. Pipe Band and Individual Piping and Drumming Competitions are sanctioned by the Eastern United States Pipe Band Association (EUSPBA), and will conform to the Association s requirements and rules for sanctioned events. Solo Competitors shall submit the number of tunes as required by EUSPBA for their respective grade. Bands shall submit set/ medley selections as required by EUSPBA for their respective grade. EUSPBA representatives will be in attendance. All competitors must show current EUSPBA or P&PBSO membership cards. 7. SGAD reserves the right to cancel any event due to lack of competitors. 8. In any contest with three or less competitors, there will be one less prize awarded than the number of competitors. 9. Pipe Bands shall participate in the Massed Bands parades. Bands that are not present on time at both parades will not receive their travel expense reimbursements. The only exception to this is for bands that are excused from the opening massed bands. Opening ceremonies will commence at 12:00 PM. Closing ceremonies will commence at 6:00 PM. 10. All prize money and band travel expenses will be mailed to competitors within 14 days after the day of the Gathering. 11. Decisions by the Steward and Judge(s) will be final. 12. Any complaints must be forwarded to the Office of the Gathering within 10 days after the Gathering, along with a $15.00 processing charge. 13. Field entries will be taken for the Practice Chanter and Drum Pad Competitions. These are unsanctioned events. No other field entries will be permitted. 14. CHG reserves the right to change or amend these rules. CHG is not responsible for any typographic errors or omissions. 15. No RV s or Campers will be permitted entrance to the band parking area.

16. NO GLASS BOTTLES ARE PERMITTED ANYWHERE ON THE GAMES PROPERTY. Colonial Highland Gathering Pipe Band Parking Policy Each registered band will be issued one (1) numbered back gate parking pass for the day of the games. All other vehicles will need to park in the general parking area. Handicap parking is available outside of the main gate and will not be accepted at the back gate. Please inform all members of your band to park in the main parking lot, as passes will be checked against a roster of parking numbers at the back gate prior to any vehicle entering. No overnight parking will be allowed on the property for any reason. This provision will be enforced by the Sherriff s Department. The gates will open to bands on the day of the games at approximately 6:30 AM at which games personnel will check parking passes against an official list of approved parking pass numbers at the back gate. In case of inclement weather, parking on grass surfaces and areas may be limited or prohibited. Please enter me in the event(s) below. In consideration of acceptance of my entry, I hereby agree for myself, heirs, assigns, or executors, that I (1) will hold harmless and release The Scottish Games Association of Delaware, Inc. (SGAD), the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, on whose property the SGAD s Colonial Highland Gathering (CHG) is held, and their agents, representatives, employees, officials, and directors, and their respective insurance carriers, if I suffer any personal injury (including death) or property damages during my performance in the event(s) during the CHG; (2) will personally and/or in conjunction with my personal insurance carrier underwrite any medical or other costs associated to my injury or property damages; and (3) will not file a claim against any of those enumerated in (1) above for such injury or property damages. To my knowledge, I am in good health and have no physical condition that would prevent participation. It is understood that this release agreement applies only to my activities as a participant. activities during the CHG I will be considered a member of the general public. When attending other I further agree that photographs or slides, which may include me, may be made by or for the SGAD, and may be used along with my name by the SGAD or by others authorized by them without compensation to me.
