This means that the data is encrypted as it passes between your BlackBerry and the Allscripts web servers. Allscripts Mobile decrypts the data so that you can read it on your BlackBerry. Safeguard the data on your BlackBerry the same way that you safeguard the data on your host computer or laptop: Protect your device to minimize loss or theft. Do not let unauthorized users gain access to your device either intentionally or unintentionally. Enable password protection on your device. 1. To password protect your device, run the Options application. 2. Choose Security Options. Copyright 2009 Allscripts-Misys Healthcare Solutions, Inc. Page 8 of 10
3. Choose General Settings. 4. Set Password to Enabled. Allscripts recommends that you set the Number of Password Attempts to 5. If someone tries to guess your password by repeated forced attempts, your BlackBerry will lock itself down to prevent access. Allscripts recommends that you set the Security Timeout to 2 minutes. This means that after 2 minutes of inactivity your BlackBerry will require your BlackBerry password. This feature ensures that if someone else picks up your BlackBerry or if you lose it, your data, including Allscripts Mobile, is protected For BlackBerry Desktop users: Note that when you enable a password on the BlackBerry device, BlackBerry Desktop Manager also requires it before it will synchronize with it.
