CENTRAL BOARD OF SECONDARY EDUCATION: DELHI PRESS NOTE 23 rd May, 2011 CBSE RESULTS FOR ALL INDIA / DELHI SENIOR SCHOOL CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION (CLASS XII), 2011 Duration of Examination : 1 st March 2011 to 13 th April 2011 Date of result declaration : 23 rd May, 2011 (Ajmer, Chennai, Panchkula, Delhi, Guwahati, Allahabad and Bhubaneshwar) RESULT STATISTICS In total 770043 candidates were registered for class XII examination this year. This amounts for an increase of about 9.85 % candidates over that of last year. HIGHLIGHTS Excluding Patna Region A increase of 1.84 % in the overall pass percentage as compared to 2010 results. Pass percentage of 2010 = 79.87 Pass percentage of 2011 = 81.71 Girls do better than boys. Pass percentage of girls is 86.93 as compared to that of boys which is 77.83. Pass percentage of regular students is 83.66 as compared to 45.41 of private/ patrachar candidates. Over all pass percentage of Chennai Region is 91.32 which is the highest as compared to other Regions. 1
CENTRAL BOARD OF SECONDARY EDUCATION DELHI PRESS NOTE 23.05.2011 HIGHLIGHTS OF CLASS XII 2011 EXAMINATIONS 1. For the first time class XII Students appeared in Graphics Design Course and Heritage Crafts. Separate question paper for visually challenged candidates in the subject of Physics, Chemistry, Biology & Maths were provided. 2. Sample Question Papers Sample Question Papers in all subjects were revised, published and uploaded on the Board s website for March 2011 examination. A special feature was the publication of sample question papers in the subjects of Computer Science, Multi Media and Web Technology, Informatics Practices, Agriculture, Home Science, Engineering Graphics, in class XII. 3. CBSE COUNSELLING 2011 CBSE TELE COUNSELLING - IInd Phase from 23rd_May to 6th_June 2011 The Second phase of CBSE Tele-counselling will begin from 23 rd May and go up to 6 th June 2011. This year 36 Principals, trained counselors from CBSE affiliated government and private schools and few psychologists are participating in Tele-Counseling to address result related psychological problems of the students. 32 of them are available in India while 4 are located in Dubai, Doha Qatar and Kuwait. Centralized Toll Free Access in India Students can dial a toll free number 1800 11 7002 from any part of the country to get centralized access to CBSE helpline. While the general queries are 2
answered by the operators, students are connected to the principals or counselors in case of result related anxiety or stress. This year approximately 2626 calls were received on the toll free number during Ist phase of counseling from 1 st Feb to 13 th April, which were handled by different counselors. Last year approx. 7333 calls were received during the same time. The trend is indicative of reduced stress and anxiety amongst examinees. Ensuring Smooth Evaluation (a) Chief Nodal Supervisors: The Board has been appointing school principals as Chief Nodal Supervisors for evaluation purpose in cities where the number of schools is large and three or more Head Examiners are involved in a subject. The Chief Nodal Supervisors is put in charge of the same subject, which he or she has taught or has been teaching as PGT or Principal. This ensures proper manageability, supervision and timely completion of evaluation work. (b) Observation Schedules: To give fair deal to the question papers and redress genuine grievances of the students, observation schedules were sent to all the school principals to record and forward their suggestions within 24 hours of the conduct of examination of concerned subject so that these could be considered by the expert group while preparing the marking schemes. (c) Mandatory evaluation: Teachers selected for evaluation work were instructed to report on the appointed date and time. Non-release of teachers by any school could lead to withholding the result of the defaulting institution. The Board could also consider and initiate disaffiliation proceedings. However, those extending willing and effective cooperation will also find a mention in their personal records. 5. IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THE SCHOOLS The first chance compartmental examination will commence on 16 th July, 2011. Regular candidates will route their requests through the Head of institution. The Heads of Institutions will ensure that the list of compartmental candidate reaches the respective regional offices with fee upto 23.06.2011 or with late fee of Rs. 10/- per day upto 30.06.2011. 3
Application forms for private / compartmental candidates for Delhi region will be issued to the candidates along with Mark Statements from their respective Schools/Examination Centres. 6. VERIFICATION OF MARKS The facility of verification of marks is available to all candidates. The candidates can apply for verification of marks to the respective regional offices from the date of declaration of result. (a) The forms for verification of marks will also be available on the Board s website www.cbse.nic.in. (b) (1) For urgent verification, applications can be made on-line within 5 days from the date of declaration of result and the fee will be Rs.300/- per subject. (2) Application can be made either online or offline within 21 days from the date of declaration of result and the fee will be Rs.200/- per subject. (3) Fee can be remitted either in cash or through demand draft favouring Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education payable at the respective regional office. (c) Modes of receipt of applications and fee will be as under : (i) Online Applications with payment through Demand Draft, (ii) Offline Application as per past practice. (d) All applications received on-line or offline will be dealt on first come first disposal basis. 7. Application of verification may also be submitted offline in these 26 schools along with Cash or Demand Draft from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. during normal working days except Gazetted holidays upto 21 days from the date of declaration of results. Candidates can collect and deposit their application forms and fee only at the institutions mentioned above. The application forms will not be made available to the candidates from the CBSE office directly. For candidates outside Delhi: Applications for verification can be obtained from the Regional Office or the board s website and dispatched to respective regional office along with Draft for requisite fee. The result of verification of marks will be intimated to the concerning candidates through email on their personal ID and will also be put on CBSE website as per past practice. The candidates whose result gets revised after verification of marks will be intimated through letter via speed post. In case candidate has not mentioned email ID on online or offline application the result of verification will be sent by ordinary post. Result distribution under Delhi Region The schools under the Delhi Region are advised to collect the result from the office of the respective Deputy Director of Education, Delhi after 2 p.m on 23 rd May 2011. Private candidates are advised to collect their result from their Examination Centre. The result will not be available at the office of the Board the public is advised not to come to the Board s Office for collection of result. CBSE would like to place on record it s appreciation for the organizations and agencies such as Directorate of Education, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, JNV Samiti, Public schools and the state governments for extending full cooperation and help in the smooth & fair conduct of examinations.
