Cheltenham Art Gallery & Museum Outreach Department Take- Away Service, history and art resources for loan Opening Hours The Museum Take-Away Service is open on three days each week, Tuesday to Thursday between 2.00 and 5.20 during term time and by arrangement during academic holidays. Orders may be placed by telephone on 01242-775701 or 01242-237431, or by email to claire.chambers@cheltenham.gov.uk. Please place your orders early to ensure the boxes you want are available. Visitors are welcome to call in and explore the full range of resources in store - please telephone in advance to arrange a convenient time. Loan Arrangements The loans boxes are collected and returned by the borrower. The standard duration of each loan period is two weeks and a prompt return guarantees good service to all our customers. Should you require a longer loan, please inform the office as soon as possible as special extensions may be feasible. Care of loans boxes Every loans box will contain a 'guideline for borrowers' sheet which stresses the importance of careful handling, usage, storage and packing of the artefacts and the need for protection from detrimental environmental factors such as strong sunlight, dampness or heat. The only costume that is suitable for trying on is contained in the History Activity Boxes (page 6). Cotton gloves will be included in some costume boxes and should be worn when handling delicate garments. Please notify us of any lost of damaged items immediately as a charge may be incurred in respect of repair or replacement costs. Contents lists In order to assist with the forward planning of lessons, events and displays, a full list of contents may be posted or e-mailed to you if requested when placing your order. To monitor and improve the service, please help us by completing the Comments Card enclosed with your order. Payment terms The annual subscription fee is 45 + VAT per academic year for which invoices will be issued at the start of the academic year in September. It is also possible to loan by the box at 8.00 per box, or by the term at 20 plus VAT; these payments should be made by cash or cheque, payable to Cheltenham Borough Council. 2
