ELECTRIC KETTLES ROUND KA SERIES KETTLES TRENT Round (KA Series) Kettles are designed to apply radiant heat to the external surface of the vessel. The vessel can be easily removed from the kettle without removing the heaters or disturbing electrical connections by unscrewing the valve and pipe nipple and lifting the vessel from the kettle heat chamber. TRENT Folded and Formed heating elements are mounted to the inner casing walls with grooved porcelain retainers. The elements radiate uniform heat directly to the outer surface walls of the vessel. This quickly and effectively transfers the heat to the material you are melting. This method prevents vessel stresses and hot spotting that tends to shorten pot life. Standard models come with a lever type valve for easy discharge of the melted material. Heated valves and agitation systems are available. KA KA Series Series Kettles Kettles with or and without Agitator The vessels are designed with continuous steel side walls and full wrap around brim to prevent melted material from getting into the heat chamber. Control instruments and terminal boxes are protected from spills by strategically placed drip shields. The basic temperature control of the standard kettle is from within the vessel against the side wall, which controls just the wall liquid film temperature to the maximum operating temperature of 650 F. Kettles can be bench or floor-mounted. ELECTRIC KETTLES RECTANGULAR KR SERIES KETTLES TRENT KR Series Kettles were designed for melting materials and for use as heated tanks in quenching, slushing and cleaning operations. VESSEL FOLDED & FORMED HEATING ELEMENT RACK RADIATING TO VESSEL BOTTON Rectangular in size, these kettles all employ the same basic design regardless if their size or type of usage. The vessel proper is mounted to the outer casing to prevent warping and may be easily removed from the kettle, for maintenance purposes, without disturbing the electrical connections. The sturdy steel outer casing supports the vessel and its contents. The heavy duty construction incorporates the TRENT Folded and Formed radiant heater racks which are mounted to the bottom of the inside heat chamber. Annular space around all four sides of the vessel is provided for convection of heat to the vessel side walls. No metallic inner casing is provided as block type insulation eliminates this requirement. Control is achieved through any high grade thermostat type controller. The control of the temperature is located in the annular space between the heating element and bottom of the kettle vessel proper. In effect, a double boiler heating method is maintained to insure against overheating, scorching, etc. Standard parts with little or no maintenance cost. Rugged construction for most industrial applications. including a heavy steel outer casing with aluminized steel inner casing liner. High-grade mineral board type insulation. Heavy-duty steel vessel fabricated, using welded steel construction, and removable for easy access to the heat chamber. Full wrap-around brim to prevent material from seeping into the heat chamber. ELECTRIC KETTLES PARAPLAST MELTERS TRENT Paraplast Melters are similar in design to the KA series kettles but have been adapted it to enable the melting of Paraplast and other low melting point compounds. The melter consists of a steel vessel suspended into an insulated heat chamber. TRENT Folded and Formed heating elements are spaced 1 inch away from the outer surface wall of the vessel on the bottom and sides. The low watts density ribbon elements radiate heat to the sides and bottom in an even low heat flux density to vessel and compounds within. This important feature prevents decomposition in the material which is caused when heat impingement is concentrated, or in contact, with the material. Control is effected by means of a pyrometer with thermocouple probe attached to the KA-50P Series Melter outer vessel wall. An adjustable overtemperature control is included to protect the compounds from overheating in the event of main control failure. with KA-50P heated Melter valve with and agitation heated valve system and agitation system Standard models come with a variable speed paddle wheel type agitator operated with an air motor through a gear reduction unit, an uninsulated split hinged cover and a quick-acting, lever-type heated valve for easy discharge of the melted material. This valve is heated by TRENT cartridge heaters and is thermostatically controlled. This is an important feature since Paraplast must be carried to the mold or mandrel at the proper temperature. The melter stands on legs to bring the valve 36" above floor level. All of the above comes as a complete package with the control panel mounted and wired to the melter. ELECTRIC MELTERS LEAD AND BABBITT MELTING POTS TRENT Melting Pots are fabricated from 1/2 thick steel or heavier using welded steel construction. TRENT Folded and Formed heating elements are mounted to the inner casing walls with grooved porcelain retainers. The elements radiate uniform heat directly to the pot outer surface walls. This quickly and effectively transfers the heat to the material you are melting. This method prevents pot stresses and hot spotting that tends to shorten pot life. All pots should be placed under an exhaust hood or in a well ventilated area to remove fumes that may come from the melted materials. The MB Series Stationary Pots are designed to provide full access for easy ladling or dipping. A control well opening at the bottom of the pot crucible effectively allows the control thermostat to sense the pot and material temperature to the maximum operating temperature of 1000 F. Lifting hooks on the pot permit easy removal of the pot for heat chamber inspection. MT Series Tilting models are floor mounted and designed with a mounting stand and hand wheel tilt pouring gear box arrangement or quick-acting handle. TRENT custom-built melters are also available in larger sizes for lead, zinc, babbitt, and solder. MB-100 Melter with lifting lugs Heavy duty steel pots fabricated from 1/2 thick steel or heavier using welded steel construction.
