It is both timely ad appropriate that we are able to set out our ambitios for this fie Uiversity over the ext phase of our developmet, uder the leadership of Professor Nigel Weatherill, our Vice-Chacellor ad Chief Executive Officer sice September 2011. Whilst we eter a period of ucertaity, we are also challeged ad excited by great opportuity. The fact that fudig for Learig ad Teachig will be almost etirely reliat o the Studet Fee will create ew demads ad ew expectatios from the studet body. Importatly, it will be the uiversities which are able to predict ad respod to these demads with speed ad focus that will stad out i five years time. It will ot be easy, ad much of the challege will be i makig the difficult but ecessary decisios that will esure the future sustaiability of this Uiversity. Cetral to our ambitio is the strog desire from the Board of Goverors ot to let exteral pressures defie the ageda for Liverpool Joh Moores Uiversity. O the cotrary, the strategy we have developed defies its ow distictive propositio which will have appeal to prospective studets ad parters. The period up to 2017 will probably be the most dyamic ad challegig i the log history of Higher Educatio i the Uited Kigdom.
