Introduction VIA High Definition Audio Vdeck Black Skin Control Panel provides a user-friendly interface for you to configure the audio system empowered by VIA High Definition Audio Codec. The Black Skin Control Panel supports Microsoft Windows Vista and Windows 7. Getting Started The Black Skin Control Panel provides two modes: 1. Simple Mode 2. Expert Mode When you open the Black Skin Control Panel, by default it is in Simple Mode. Simple Mode Simple Device Control Jack Detection & Configuration Click the jack icon to open the jack configuration dialog box. Mute Button Click the button to mute the device. Volume Control Drag the slider bars to adjust the master volume of the devices. Default Device Click the button to select and set the default playback or capture device. Simple Device Control Area Information Button Click it to view Information dialog box. Mode Switch Click the button to switch between Simple Mode and Expert Mode. Default Format Page Use this page to control the sample rates and bit depth of the playback or recording devices. Click the respective buttons to set the sample rate or bit depth. The selected buttons will be highlighted. Figure 8. Default Format Page Bass Management Page Use this page to configure the features of speaker devices. Enable Bass Management Click it to enable bass management. Cutoff Frequency Adjustment Move the slider to set suitable cutoff frequency. Jack Information and Configuration Jack Detection and Configuration area shows the information of jack connections. Distinguish the jacks by different colors. You can find the colors that match the jacks at the rear or front part of the computer. When a device is connected, the respective jack icon is highlighted; otherwise the jack is grey, and the function is disabled. Figure 13. Advanced Options This dialog box provides the advanced options. Redirected Headphone Copy the speaker s front channel stream to the headphone. Language Select Provide multi-language support. Select the language from the drop-down box. Check the button to mute the speaker if it is connected to a headphone. This function is only available when the Redirected Headphone is checked. Enable Front Panel Jack Detection Check the button to enable the front panel jack detection. Independent Headphone Click it to change the headphone to an independent device from the speaker. The different audio streams are from the speaker and headphone separately. Figure 15. Advanced Options Dialog Box Note: To set the speaker and headphone as separate and individual audio streams under Windows 7, use different players and set the speaker or headphone as the output device in the respective players. Miscellaneous Control When the VDeck is executed, the VDeck icon will display in the system tray. Figure 17. VDeck Icon in the System Tray Right-click the VDeck icon in the system tray, and a small menu will appear.
