Authors: Menadžment ljudskih resursa Milan Martinović& Zorica Tanasković Human Resource Management PhD Milan Martinovic & MSc Zorica Tanaskovic Human resource management (HRM) is the field of the organizational science which studies all the aspects of the employment in an organization. Because of its subject of study, this scientific field has not been developing in isolation, but in a wider context of industrial changes and economic development, and it has resulted from the dramatic and continuous changes which are creating the civilization of the new world order. In the contemporary, global business environment, in which technologies and information are accessible to everyone, an organization s competitive advantages can be based only on one resource the employees, their talents, knowledge and motivation. Employees are not only the most precious, but often also the most expensive resource of an organization; therefore, strategic and long-term employee management planning is necessary. 3

Strategic human resource planning represents a tendency of an organization to plan the ways, time and means to satisfy its future needs, by predicting the future demands in the field of knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviour of employees, all of which result from the business strategy and changes in its environment. The purpose of such a plan is to provide opportunities for an organization to achieve its goals, and it implies predicting possible workforce deficiencies (or redundancies), planning recruitment activities, planning educational activities, as well as succession planning. Strategic human resource planning integrates the strategic business planning and the strategic planning of human resource function, and it is a joint activity of the management and other experts in the field of human resource management. Owing to the dynamic development of both theory and practice in this field, the acquired knowledge quickly becomes obsolete. Therefore, the acquisition of knew knowledge, which can be reached by following the innovations in the countries which are considered the leaders in the field of human resource management, is the imperative for all those involved in the theory and practice of this field. The technological development in all fields of social life has caused the change in the occupational structure of employment, indicating the growing need for high-skilled occupations. Electronic performance monitoring systems use the computer network technology in order to access the employees computers and phones. Modern economy cannot achieve productivity without the rational division of labour and as long as the capital is transferred from one industry, field or country to another one. Labour division also entails different levels of dignity in different professions. The implementation of the human resource information system represents one of the significant organizational changes, leading to a great turning point in the perception of individual development. The recognition of training needs was followed by the recognition of learning needs, and the fact that development represents the ownership of those who learn and not of those who teach and try to satisfy that need, was emphasized. Therefore, it is important to ensure a wide range of development methods in the workplace, as well as the access to the distance or e-learning. This book is mainly intended for the students of undergraduate, specialist and master studies offering human resource management courses, as well as to the specialists dealing with HRM-related tasks and managers at all levels. 5. Računarsko upravljanje Dragoljub Drndarević Computer Control PhD Dragoljub Drndarevic The course book Computer Control is published as part of the Tempus project 517022 Multimedia and Digital Television. It comprises the fundamentals of the computer control system, as well as its use in certain fields of facility control and process control. In the Introduction, the role and basic functions of the computer control, as well as the structure of such systems, are explained. In the second part, the Programmable Logic Controller PLC is described, as one of the most frequently used computer control systems. The following elements of the PLC hardware are included here its structure, central processing unit, input, output and special modules and programming devices. Regarding software, the 4

programming languages complying with the requirements of the IEC 1131-3 standard are explained, as well as the implementation of the basic functions using the Ladder diagram programming languages and the synthesis processes of control systems. The third part of the book is devoted to the numerical control NC. Measurement systems are explained here, especially optical encoders, which are mostly used nowadays. As far as operating systems are concerned, the electro-hydraulic ones, such as proportional and servo valves, are explained in detail. As to the control systems, the classification, control types and interpolation types are given, together with the already obtained solutions for control units. Programming processes are also presented here, with the special emphasis on the programming using the CAD system. The fourth part explains the basics of robots and manipulators in terms of control. It also provides a practical view of the mechanical and electrical systems used for robots, as well as the control and programming systems typical for the facilities with such a control. There is also a short description about how robots are used in different fields of industry. All the explained fields contain the examples of actual solutions. The literature for each of the fields is included in the appropriate chapter. Key words: Computer Control, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Numerical Control (NC), Robots and Manipulators 6. Komercijalno i carinsko poznavanje robe Olivera Novitović Commercial and Customs Merchandizing PhD Olivera Novitovic The course book Commercial and Customs Merchandizing was written as part of the implementation of the Tempus project no. 517022, Multimedia and Digital Television. The course book was designed in compliance with the revised curriculum of the Commercial and Customs Merchandizing course, offered within the Information Technologies study programme, which comprises 2 modules: M1 Information Systems and M2 Multimedia and Digital Television. The course book consists of 17 chapters. They are as follows: Materials, Ceramic Materials, Metal Materials, Polymer Materials, Composite Materials, Biomaterials, Quality system, Natural Resource Management, Product Design, Ecology, Customs Operations, Food Technology, Other Food Product Components, Standards, Fertilizer, Inorganic Chemical Industry Products, Fabrics and Logistics. This course book resulted from the need for a multidisciplinary approach, and it provides support for the students who are engaged in product planning, design and quality, and who need the information from the recent literature in western countries, which they can use as the main idea for the design of products, starting from the classic ones, with certain modern elements and simple shapes, made from the top quality materials. This is definitely a trend which should be followed. The main idea of the book is that the characteristics of a product depend on its structure and that the knowledge and use of information technologies are necessary. Key words: materials, structure, information, technologies, applications, multidisciplinary approach, creativity, standards, validity. 5

7. Društvo, etika i ekologija Vesna Vasović Society, Ethics and Ecology PhD Vesna Vasovic The potential of each society is determined by the availability of raw materials, energy and resources. The intensive economic development, followed by great shocks and degradation of human environment, brought the life of modern industrial society on the verge of the volcano. The unbridled industrialization, irrational consumption of non-renewable energy and materials, breaking the ties with the earth, imposing the logic of indefinite growth, urban-demographic chaos, spiritual exhaustion and risky everyday life confirm the position of the modern world, which is under the utmost discussion. In the spirit of post-industrialism, the burning question is: how should the man perform the most innocent intervention over the nature, and how to bring it down to the smallest possible measure? In the theoretical discourse of the experts for human environment, the mutual agreement on the necessity of the transformation of valuable scale has been more and more confirmed. Over the centuries, the cry in the name of the economic growth and material abundance has greatly challenged the dictation of new values such as: freedom, health and knowledge. However, the anthropocentrism, deeply rooted in the modern society tissue, for which the nature is only an objective item, i.e., which revives the instrumental form of the relation to the nature, still prevents the complete establishment of the new logic of life and working culture. Yet, the awareness of the proportions of ecological crisis rapidly urges socio-economic, technical-technological, political and cultural efforts on the way to a sustainable society. The inability of the modern is overcome by the green option, capable to create a sound spirit of changes, to sober the sleepy, to reconcile the different, to gather the scattered. The ecological conscience, ecological education, behaviour, politics, civil society and numerous modern emancipated forces are becoming its most important trumps, but the ecological movement takes the most important place. Of course, it is not a simple manner of transformation of the existing things, but the long-lasting radical and complex process of building an essentially different reality. Key words: industrial society, politics, ecology, human environment, risk, pollution, resources, ecological movement, ecological parties, ethics, valuable system, sustainability, technique and technology. 8. Katalog studijskog programa Informacione tehnologije modul: Multimedija i digitalna televizija Catalogue of study programme Information Technology, module: Multimedia and Digital Television The Course catalogue Catalogue of Information Technology study programme, module: Multimedia and Digital Television is published as part of the Tempus project 517022 Multimedia and Digital Television. The structure of the study programme is given in the catalogue, as well as the detailed description of the curriculum and programme materials of the courses taught within the Multimedia and Digital Television study module. The purpose of the catalogue is to promote this study module. 6
