5 Insallaion and Sarup 5.1 Safey Insrucions During operaion, cerain pars of his elecric measuring ransducer may carry hazardous volages. Disregarding his warning may resul in serious personal injury or damage o propery. MCR-S- -DCI modules mus only be insalled and sared by qualified personnel. Qualified personnel are persons who, because of heir educaion, experience and insrucion and heir knowledge of relevan sandards, regulaions, acciden prevenion and service condiions, have been auhorized by hose responsible for he safey of he plan o carry ou any required operaions, and who are able o recognize and avoid any possible dangers. The measuring ransducer mus no be sared up when he housing is open. The poeniomeers on he fron should only be adjused using a screwdriver, which is safely isolaed from he volage a he inpu. For applicaions wih high operaing volages, ensure sufficien disance or insulaion and provide shock proecion. Safe and error-free operaion of his device can only be ensured if ranspor, sorage, and assembly are carried ou correcly and operaion and mainenance are carried ou wih care. 5.2 Mehod of Operaion Connecion o he inpu erminal blocks (MCR-S-1-5-...-DCI) or passing he live conducor hrough he curren ransducer (MCR-S-10-50-...-DCI) induces a magneic flux in he srip-wound core. The magneic flux densiy is measured using a Hall sensor and convered proporionally from he inpu curren o a volage (Hall volage). A subsequen rue r.m.s. value converer enables DC, AC, and disored currens o be measured. The signal is amplified for furher condiioning and made available a he oupu as a proporional analog signal. 5.3 Elecrical Connecion Pin Assignmen When operaing his elecric measuring ransducer, he naional regulaions (e.g., in Germany, VDE 0100 "Condiions for he Erecion of Elecrical Power Insallaions wih Nominal Volages Below 1000 V") mus be observed during he insallaion and selecion of he elecrical conducors.
