VIVA 4G LTE Mini Router Quick Start Guide
Thank you for choosing the VIVA 4G LTE Mini Router (hereinafter referred to as the E57) The supported functions and actual appearance are subject to the product purchased. The following pictures are displayed for illustration purposes only. For the product selection details, consult your service provider. This guide briefly describes the functions of the E57. For details about how to set the management parameters, see the Help section on the Web Management page. If the E57 is placed in an environment with poor ventilation, it will become warm after extended use. When the E57 temperature reaches a certain high tempreature, it will switch off or disconnect from the network automatically to protect itself. If this happens, please place the E57 in a well-ventilated area for heat dissipation and then restart it.
Application Scenarios The Wi-Fi device or computer can connect to the internet through the E57. The actual connection procedure depends on the operating system of the Wi-Fi device or computer. Before You Start Installing the SIM Card and the Battery Insert the SIM card in the card slot. Ensure the SIM card is facing in the right direction, as shown in the figure below, and then slide the SIM card into the slot. When removing the SIM card, open the tab and gently press the SIM card in, then release. The card will automatically pop out. Do not remove the SIM card when it is in use. Otherwise, the card and the Wi-Fi may be damaged, and data stored on the card may be lost. Do not remove the SIM card when it is in use. Doing so will affect the performance of your Mobile WiFi and data stored on the SIM card may be lost. Installing the microsd Card Insert the MicroSD as shown below. The MicroSD card is an optional accessory. If a MicroSD card is not provided in the package, you may buy one. To remove the MicroSD card, press the card in gently. The MicroSD card will pop out for removal. Do not remove the MicroSD card when it is in use. Otherwise, the card and the E57 may be damaged, and data stored on the card may be lost.
Charging the Battery If the battery has not been used for a long time, it must be recharged first. Method 1: Using the charger Caution: Only use the charger compatible with the E57 and provided by the designated manufacturer. If a charger incompatible with the device model or provided by other manufacturers or vendors is used, the E57 may fail to work and damage to the device may occur. At the same time, any national regulations on communications products or warranty applicable to the E57 will be canceled. The charger is an optional accessory, if the charger is not provided in the package you can contact your local dealer to buy one. Method 2: Connecting to a PC for charging Connect the Mobile Wi-Fi to a PC using a compatible data cable.
Accessing the Internet via Wi-Fi Connection By default, management parameters are preset on the E57 according to the requirements of VIVA, the service provider. You may follow the steps below to quickly access the Internet. For details about how to set management parameters, see the Help section on the Web Management page. Step1: Power on the E57 Press and hold until the screen lights up. The E57 is powered on. Press and hold to power off the E57. Step 2: Establish a Wi-Fi Connection (Below example uses Windows XP OS) 1. Make sure that the Wi-Fi is enabled. 2. Select Start > Control Panel > Network Connections > Wireless Network Connection. To set up a Wi-Fi connection, the PC must have a wireless network adapter installed. If Wireless Network Connection is displayed, a wireless network adapter is available. Otherwise, check to make sure you have a wireless network adapter installed. 3. Click View available (wireless networks) to display a list of wireless networks available. 4. Select a network indicated by the SSID of the E57, and then click Connect. If the encryption parameter is already set for the E57, the Wireless Network Connection dialog box is displayed. Enter the network password in the dialog box. The SSID and network key label are affixed to your E57. Press the WPS button twice to view the current SSID and wireless network encryption key on the screen. Wait until the wireless connection icon is displayed in the status area in the lower right corner of the PC screen.
Step 3: Access the Internet After you establish a Wi-Fi connection successfully, you can access the Internet using the following modes. By default, the mode is Auto. Mode Auto Manual Operations After the E57 is powered on, it can automatically connect to the internet when data transmission is required. If data transmission is not performed over a period of time, the E57 automatically disconnects from the Internet connection. Launch the Web Management page and follow the prompts to connect to or disconnect from the network. Launch the Web Management page to select the mode for accessing the Internet. If the E57 accesses the roaming network, the E57 automatically disconnects from the established network connection. If you need to access the Internet from the new network, you must re-establish a network connection. Accessing the Web Management Page 1. Make sure that the connection between the E57 and the device is properly established. 2. Start the Internet browser and enter http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar. 3. Enter the password and log in to the web management page. The default password is admin. Create a Secure Connection 1. Launch the web browser and enter http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar. 2. Enter the password and click login. The default password is admin. 3. Click on Settings. 4. Click on Quick setup. A message Welcome to the quick setup wizard will be shown. 5. Click on Next. A message Configure Profile Settings will be shown. 6. Click on Next. A message Configure Dial-up Settings will be shown. 7. Click on Next. A message Configure WLAN settings will be shown. Insert the desired router name in the Name (SSID) field 8. Click on Next. For the Authentication select Auto, for the Encryption mode select WEP. Enter the desired network key in the Network key 1 field. This key will be requested every time a user tries to access this connection. 9. Click on Next 10. Click on Finish. A message The action will disconnect your connection, are you sure to proceed? will be shown 11. Click on Ok. The password that you will set for your device should be in numerical format (example 123456).
Daily Use Power Saving Mode If no operation is performed on the E57 for a while, the screen turns off. Press any key to light up the screen. If the E57 is powered by the battery only, choose whether to enable the E57 to turn off Wi-Fi automatically. If this function is enabled and no Wi-Fi devices access the E57 for a set period, the E57 turns off Wi-Fi automatically. You can press any key to turn on Wi-Fi again. Establishing a WPS Connection If a Wi-Fi client connected to the E57 supports the WPS function, a network key will be automatically generated without manual input. To establish a WPS connection, perform the following steps: 1. Power on the E57. 2. Start the client. 3. Enable the WPS function of the E57. 4. Enable the WPS function of the client. After Wi-Fi is enabled, press and hold the WPS button to enable the WPS function of the E57. For WPS operations on the client, see the user guide of the client. Restoring Factory Defaults If you forget the changes you have made to some parameters, you may restore factory defaults and reconfigure the E57. To restore the factory defaults: press and hold the RESET button until the screen turns off. All factory default settings will be successfully restored. Restoring factory defaults deletes all personal configuration settings and restores all web-based management settings and parameters to their default values.
