How many packages will be left over? Frank wants to become an actor in Hollywood, but he needs money to travel from Green Bay, WI. He can fly for $225 or he could drive his car. His car contains a 17 gallon gas tank. His car gets 30 miles per gallon. It is 2,000 miles from Green Bay to Hollywood. The price of gas is $3.00 a gallon. Would it be cheaper for him to fly or drive? John was at the store and he saw that his favorite video game was on sale for $29.99. He had $14.00 in his pocket and another $5.70 at home. He also worked mowing lawns for $5.00 an hour. How many hours will he have to work before he could buy the video game? Elmer had $125.35 saved up. He wanted to buy a surf board that costs $400. On his way to work to saw some snorkel gear and bought it for $59.99. Now how much money does he need to save in order to buy the surf board? School was starting and James had $300 to spend on clothes. He bought a pair of shoes for $62.50, 3 shirts for $17.25 each, and 5 pairs of jeans at $27.75 each. How much change will James get back? Logan went shopping at the mall. He spent $75.43 on shoes, $25.14 for a t shirt, and $43.85 on a denim jacket. How much did he spend in all? If Logan paid the cashier $200 in cash, how much money will he get back? Laura was having a birthday party. She had 18 guests attend her party. She ordered pizza for dinner. Each pizza will feed 6 guests. How many pizzas will Laura need to order? How much would she need to spend if each pizza cost $12.50?

How much will he spend on gravel? Bags of chips were sold in groups of 10. If they cost $2.50 a group, how much would 90 bags cost? A can of soda is 12 ounces. They were on sale for $0.50 for 2 cans. If Tim bought $6.00 worth of soda, how many ounces would he get? Mom went to the store and bought bread for $1, milk for $3, and apples for $2. She gave the clerk $10 to pay for the food. How much change will she get back? You have $20 to spend at the store. You buy 2 toy cars for $9 each. How much money do you have left? Kathy babysat and receives $5.00 an hour. She babysat for 3 hours. After babysitting she went to Wal Mart and wanted to buy a CD for $12. Did she have enough to buy the CD or not enough? How much more or less did she have?

Sally bought 4 packs of gum for $0.50 a pack. If Sally had $5.00, did she have enough money? Pete and Paul went to the Packers game. Pete bought 2 hot dogs for $2.00 each, a bag of popcorn for $3.50, and Paul bought 2 sodas for $5.00 each. How much money did Paul spend at the game? The Packers made 41 touchdowns and 21 field goals this season. They missed 12 field goals. A touchdown is worth 6 points and a field goal is worth 3 points. If they had made all of their field goals, how many points would they have made this season? The perimeter of a rectangle is 40 inches. The length is 6 inches longer than the width. What are the length and width of the rectangle? Dad drove 168 miles on Tuesday and 196 miles on Wednesday. Mom drove 205 miles on Tuesday and 150 miles on Wednesday. Who drove further? How much further? Timmy went coon hunting with his 5 dogs. His dog Biff saw a porcupine and had a mouth full of quills. He had 27 quills on the roof of his mouth, 16 quills in his tongue, and 8 more in his gums. Each of the other dogs had 9 quills in their mouths. How many quills needed to be pulled out of all the dogs? At the stock car races, Allen noticed that each stock car brings 5 spare tires to the race plus the 4 tires on each car. Allen counted the number of stock cars at the race and figured that there were 72 tires total for the stock cars. How many stock cars were at the race? Tom has twice as many football cards as Tim.
