EGESKOV CASTLE A unique fairytale castle, built on oak piles in the middle of a beautiful lake. The castle with 66 rooms was completed in 1554 and was built for defence purpose with walls so thick they have hidden stairs. Beautiful park with hedges more the 270 years old and Tree Top Walking. THE JELLING STONES The UNESCO world heritage The Jelling Stones raised by Viking Kings Gorm the Old (d. 958) and his son Harald Bluetooth (d. 986). FREDERICIA, CITY MUSEUM Fredericia is beautifully situated and offers a unique history as well as easy access to numerous excursions. The city of Fredericia is Denmark s first planned city with straight streets similar to the streets of New York City. It was ordered by King Frederik III in 1650 and was built for defence purpose. The impressive ramparts make a very scenic park area, from which you can enjoy the lovely view of Fredericia city and the beautiful coastline. Visit the world s first memorial to the unknown soldier from 1851.
FREDERICIA, THE OLD PORT The city of Fredericia was initiated by King Frederik 3rd in 1650. In 1808 a merchant convinced the Danish authorities of the necessity of building a port. When visiting Fredericia by ship, you anchor at this beautiful and idyllic old part of the city.
