EMERGENCY RELEASE COUPLER (ERC100) The ERC100 valve is designed to avoid product spillage if accidental movement of the truck occurs during the loading operations This lightweight aluminium valve is usually mounted on bottom loading arms. DESCRIPTION OF THE ITEM The ERC100 is made of 2 half-bodies with two shaped poppets that will immediately move towards the inside closing the passage once the valve is activated. The two half-bodies (1,2) are held together by three break bolts (13). The activation is obtained mechanically with a preset pull force. Once the break bolts (13) is pulled open by the runaway of the tanktruck, the two half-bodies (1,2) split apart, causing the valve to instantly separate due to the combined action of the springs (9) and the traction of the truck. The final result will be a perfect splitting of the ERC; a half-body closed will remain on the arm while the other half-body closed will remain on the dismantled part of the arm (see drawing in next page)
WORKING PRINCIPLES The ERC100 valve delimits the loading arm working area due to the presence of the pull activation break bolts. The loading zone is defined as the maximum working area generated once the arm is completely extended. In case a wider arm opening angle occurs, the valve will begin straining. Once the maximum pull-force is reached, the valve split in two parts. For a correct use of the equipment, we advise the user to mark on the ground the maximum points to be reached by the arm in normal working condition. During the loading operations, it is enough to stop the truck inside the limit area to guarantee correct use of the equipment.

This operation can be performed easily on site. The complete reloading procedure is clearly described on the Operation and maintenance manual. b) Maintenance: Considering the high-quality materials and the components used during the manufacturing of the ERC100, maintenance operations are reduced to a minimum. We advise a check-up once a year. c) Spare parts: The use of SILEA original spare parts is mandatory to ensure the same material, machining quality and functionality of the original components. The maintenance kit code is the following: cod. KMERC100V
