Introduction to Technology at Immaculata University

IU Campus Network Username: first initial + last name (e.g. John Smith = jsmith) Note: There may be a number at the end of your username if you have a common name Default Password: The last six digits of your University ID# Default Password is located on your IU Login Information Card Students must read and follow the Electronic Acceptable Use and Copyright policies.

MyIU Login Information MyIU is at http://myiu.immaculata.edu Username: Same as Network - first initial + last name (e.g. John Smith = jsmith) Default Password: 6 digit birthday mmddyy format (e.g. January 1 st, 1980 = 010180) Default Password is located on your IU Login Information Card When you login for the first time you will be prompted to create a new strong password and answer your personal security questions, which will allow you to reset your own MyIU password. For MyIU password resets call the IU Help Desk at: 610-647-4400 x1234

IU Email Every student is given an IU email account through IU Google Apps. To access your IU email, log into MyIU and click the email icon. Your IU email address is: firstinitiallastname@mail.immaculata.edu (e.g. John Smith = jsmith@mail.immaculata.edu All electronic communications from the University will be sent to your IU email account unless you decide to forward that email. MyIU Email can be read on mobile devices such as cellphones and tablets. To access your email on your mobile device, go to: /googlemail For information on how to setup your mobile device for email, go to: /ots

Campus Wireless 802.11g/n Wireless is available to IU students in most locations throughout: Gabriele Library Good Counsel Marian and DeChantal residence halls Alumnae Hall Loyola Hall Villa Maria Lourdes Nazareth Cisco Clean Access must be installed to use wireless network Computers must also have up to date Antivirus installed Computers must have update Microsoft Critical Updates

Campus Wireless Wireless network allows access to your network drives on the IU network 802.11g/n Wireless is available to IU students in most locations throughout: Wireless Networks Available: MacNet Allows students access to wireless. Imac_Public_Wifi Guest Wireless email address only, no internal access to network files, low bandwidth speeds

One Card University Identification Card Use your ID card to make purchases from vending machines, the Dining Hall, Java City, Open Door and Barnes & Noble Bookstore (on campus only). ID cards are issued at the One Card Office: Room 11, Terrace, Villa Maria Hall Phone: 610-647-4400 ext. 3601 To obtain an ID card, you will need: 1. Current course schedule printed from S.S.IU 2. University ID number (e.g. A12345678) 3. Another form of identification 4. College affiliation (CUS, CLL, CGS)

Printing Each student has 500 pages per semester for printing to network (computer lab and library) printers. Additional pages can be added through the Business Office (Terrace, Villa Maria) and the Gabriele Library circulation desk.

Flex Classrooms A Flex Classroom is a flexible space that accommodates multiple methods of teaching and learning Can be a standard classroom (tables and chairs) Can be a computer lab (laptop cart, powered tables, data access) Can be a mix of both A Flex Classroom contains: A laptop cart with (*) student laptops, power and data cables Powered tables with data drops so students can plug in laptops to both a power source and the network/internet A Teacher Station and a Smart Podium A ceiling-mounted, LCD Projector * The number of laptops per room may vary. There may be more seats than there are laptops.

MOODLE Students use Moodle to take online courses, enhance face-to-face classes, take quizzes and tests, and submit homework, etc. To access Moodle, click the Moodle link in the upper right corner of the IU home page, or go to http://immaculata.mrooms.net/ Username: Same as MyIU - first initial + last name (e.g. John Smith = jsmith) Password: MyIU password. S.S.IU Web Registration S.S.IU lets students view grades and course schedules, pay bills online, and register for classes. To Register For Classes: Log-in to MyIU Click the S.S.IU icon Click Student Click Registration Click Add or Drop Classes Select the Term (Fall 2011) Submit On The ADD/DROP Screen: Enter CRNs in the worksheet boxes from your schedule Click Submit Check for errors
