DESlock+ Mobile allows you to encrypt and decrypt email and attachments, text and files on your ios device. If you are reading this guide on your device, DESlock+ is in managed mode. Your information is protected using encryption keys, as well or instead of passwords, depending on corporate policy. Messages Text Encryption File Encryption Encryption Keys Logout Settings Diagnostics Mobile This guide describes the use of DESlock+ when it has been activated with an Enterprise Server. Encryption Keys and Policy are centrally managed by your administrator.

Messages Encrypted messages can be composed, read and stored from within the Messages menu. The Messages menu gives access to Encrypted, Draft and Sent messages. The toolbar gives access to the common functions. Compose Creates a new empty message Information Reply Delete Menu Shows the method used to encrypt the message Creates a new message based on the current message Deletes the current message Shows or hides the menu

Composing Messages Composing an encrypted message is a simple matter of typing a message and tapping Encrypt. Choose an encryption key or if policy allows, a password. Choose email recipients and send the message as you would a normal email. Photos from your library can be attached to the message by tapping on the paperclip.

Decrypting Messages Decrypting an encrypted message is a simple matter of opening the message attachment in DESlock+. Tap on the attachment and choose Open in DESlock+. If the message was encrypted with a key that you have, then it will be automatically decrypted. If the message was encrypted with a password then you will need to enter the password. After the message is decrypted, any attached files can be viewed. Simply tap on the attachment. Messages stored in DESlock+ remain encrypted when not being viewed.

Attaching Files Documents and files from other Apps can be attached to a message. Simply use the Open in feature of the App to send the document to DESlock+. DESlock+ will begin composing a new message and attach the document. If a message is already being composed the document will be attached to it. This allows many documents to be attached to a single message. While composing, tap on an attachment to remove it from the message.

Text Encryption Text encryption can be used to encrypt text which can be copied and pasted into other apps, documents, webmail or anywhere text is accepted. It is compatible with the desktop version of DESlock+ and the DESlock+ Reader for Mac and Windows. Encrypting text is a simple matter of typing or pasting some text and tapping Encrypt. When encrypted text is detected, the Encrypt button changes. The keyboard toolbar provides quick access to copy and paste.

File Encryption Documents and files from other apps can be encrypted with DESlock+. Simply use the Open in feature of the app to send the document to DESlock+. Choose Encrypt File when DESlock+ prompts. Tap Encrypt and choose an encryption key or if policy allows, a password. Once the file is encrypted tap Open In and choose an app to send the encrypted file to. To decrypt an encrypted file (.dlp) simply follow the same process, using Open In to send the file to DESlock+.

Encryption Keys The Encryption Keys menu shows the encryption keys that your administrator has provided for your use. Keys cannot be added or modified. If you require additional encryption keys, contact your administrator. Logout Logout secures DESlock+, requiring your password to unlock the app. See the Auto Lock option in settings to control when DESlock+ automatically locks.

Settings Several settings can be changed, although they may have been disabled by your administrator. Auto lock controls the period of time after which the app is automatically locked. This period only takes effect when the app is not active. If the device is locked, requiring a passcode, DESlock+ automatically locks regardless of this setting. Allows you to specify a new password. For security you must first enter your existing password. DESlock+ automatically synchronises with the Enterprise Server when the app is unlocked. Sync Now simply forces a sync, updating any chances to policy and encryption keys. Deletes all stored messages and clears drafts and text encryption. Use with caution as deleted messages are not recoverable.

Diagnostics Details about the app and activation are available when DESlock+ is locked. The details are accessible from login screen by tapping The Workstation ID and Key-File Serial Number are available for diagnostics and can be copied by tapping on the item. De-activate removes the Enterprise Server activation removing the organisations keys and policy. This returns the app to the default free mode. Encrypted messages will not be deleted and remain encrypted. Any messages encrypted with a key will no longer decrypt. If the app is re-activated with the Enterprise Server restoring the key, access to the messages will also be restored. De-activate should be used at the request of your administrator.
