The GIS analyst employs departmental project management methodologies to manage IT projects to ensure customer needs are met, departmental standards are followed, and project milestones and deliverables are accomplished. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Performs business needs analysis, system analysis, design, programming, documentation, testing and training for departmental IT applications using advanced spatial concepts. Demonstrates proficiency with IT applications development concepts, methods, principles, and processes to implement applications which satisfy complex and critical business needs. Administers, maintains and documents DTSC s GIS infrastructure. Installs and configures various server and desktop based GIS
products to support the development and maintenance of DTSC s GIS infrastructure. Assembles and indexes statewide street data for basemaps and geocoding. Refreshes and rebuilds map services. Processes vendor supplied basemap data into the infrastructure. Administers the license manager software to ensure appropriate licenses exist. Provides assistance and guidance on existing and proposed GIS services. Provides staff and management with critical decision-making aids such as maps of DTSC facilities. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Working experience with ESRI software products.
