BRMCD - BACHELOR OF RECREATION MANAGEMENT & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT 4 year degree program. Designed to expose students to the broad field of recreation management from a leisure perspective. BKIN (AT) - BACHELOR OF KINESIOLOGY (ATHLETIC THERAPY) This specialized program within the BKIN 4 year degree prepares students to work in the prevention, immediate care, and rehabilitation of musculo-skeletal injuries. This program involves extensive clinical and field experience so students can apply their knowledge and skills in practical settings, preparing them to certify with the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association (CATA). The focus is to provide students with the skills of designing, delivering and assessing meaningful and relevant physical activities and programs. ABOUT THE FACULTY OF KINESIOLOGY AND RECREATION MANAGEMENT Whether it s learning in a classroom, co-authoring a research article, doing a fieldwork placement with a professional organization, or spending your lunch break running around one of our tracks, as part of the Faculty of Kinesiology and Recreation Management, you ll be joining us in our commitment to health, well-being, human movement, and leisure. The Faculty of Kinesiology and Recreation Management is an exciting place to be! We ve broken ground on the new Active Living Centre, which will be a world-class facility for students and everyday users and help prepare future kinesiologists, physical educators, recreation specialists, coaches, and more for their careers. We ve also developed a new Exercise Physiology Lab, Human Anatomy Lab, fantastic gyms and an Athletic Therapy Centre. It s all here for you! DIRECT ENTRY The Faculty of Kinesiology and Recreation Management accepts some students into our three degree programs directly from high school (excludes Athletic Therapy). In addition to the general U of M admission requirements for high school students, a minimum 85% average over the following courses, with no less than 60% in each individual course would be needed for consideration: English 40S, Mathematics 40S, Biology 40S (recommended for B.Kin.), Chemistry 40S, Physics 40S, or Social Studies 40S (World Human Geography, Western Civilization History, or Social Studies: World Issues) Please note that due to limited space students may require a higher average than stipulated.
