Form A - HALLS OF KNOWLEDGE Tuition scholarships awarded to a graduating high school senior planning to pursue further education. This includes college, university, technical, vocational or trade school. Letter listing activities, honors, clubs, awards and biographical information; describe financial needs, goals and plans for the future, and how you will be able to contribute back to the community from the benefits of your education. Letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or principal. Deadline for submitting application: May 1 Amount: $4,000 if senior is attending a 4-year school $2,000 if senior is attending a 2-year school $500 awarded upon registration for the Fall Semester; $500 awarded upon proof of completion of a minimum twelve semester hours with a 2.0 minimum GPA from the previous semester and proof of registration for the upcoming semester. Up to $2000 if senior is attending technical, vocational or trade school. Student must enroll in the school of their choice by the Fall Semester after graduation. Student is responsible for sending a grade report from the completed semester and proof of registration for the upcoming semester. If a student does not complete a semester with the minimum requirements, or does not enroll in the next upcoming semester, the Selection Committee may cancel the remainder of the scholarship. Form B - LEARN MORE TO EARN MORE Tuition scholarships awarded to assist the applicant in job skill training for the purpose of career improvement or enhanced employment opportunity. Typical training may include realtor licensing, welding and construction specialties, paramedic training, maritime licensing, among others. Partial salary reimbursement is given to a selected local employer that hires a designated applicant and trains them in a job skill that will improve their employability in the local economy. Typical on the job training may be electrical, plumbing, and construction trades, among others.
