Patrol Division - Mobile Ticket Writing & Racial Profile Data Collection Return to Index The mobile ticket software (Quick Ticket) and the voice module (Virtual Partner) have both been purchased to provide additional function to our current mobile data system. This "third party" software adds the voice behind the returning LEADS information on the MDT's. The software is integrated with the MDT and the Quick Ticket software imports the last LICENSE PLATE and NAME check in LEADS to automatically pre-populate the ticket. The software vendors explanation of their product is show in the below box. The QuickTicket system works in conjunction with mobile software platforms to enable law enforcement officers to complete electronic traffic citations in under 30 seconds. The QuickTicket application automatically populates the traffic offender s information on the citation form using the data returned from NCIC and motor vehicle queries, and/or the information provided on a driver s license. Officers select the applicable violation from a drop-down menu and the appropriate statute number, fine and court information is automatically entered on the ticket. The ticket is printed directly on the agency s current traffic citation form utilizing a high-impact mobile printer. If there are multiple citations during a traffic stop, a second ticket can be created in 10 seconds by simply selecting a different violation. How do I start the software? When the computer first starts (boots up) the ticket software automatically loads. You will be prompted by four boxes asking you to provide;
1. Your last name 2. Your ID / Payroll Number 3. Your non-must appear court date 4. Court Time The software is now set to write tickets! I entered something wrong into one of the boxes at startup. How do I fix my mistake? The software will reset once you re-boot the computer. The boxes will only re-appear once you re-start the laptop.
How do I write a ticket? 1. The assumption is that you have already used your MDT and have ran a name and license plate and you have the returning information from the Secretary of State and LEADS. 2. The ticket software uses the last plate and name to pre-populate the electronic ticket. 3. Start the ticket software by holding the control key [ctrl] and pushing the "U" key on the keyboard. You will be prompted with a box to choose between writing a Traffic Citation or Written Warning. What must I enter to finish the ticket? The Citation will appear on the screen and any field that can be prepopulated
will fill in automatically. At the top of the screen are buttons to adjust the ticket. You can zoom and enlarge the ticket for easier reading and fill-in. The racial profile questions at the right hand side of the ticket are mandatory the first time the ticket 'form' is opened. Ticket number is mandatory for every ticket issued. see below for further on mandatory fields. To finish the ticket you will need to complete: Township Select an Offense from the List of Values supplied Select the appropriate bond taken The remainder of the ticket and check boxes will depend upon what is applicable for your stop. Which fields are mandatory? The following are mandatory: * Ticket # * Race * Sub Beat * Location of Stop
* Reason for Stop * Type of Moving Violation * Result of Stop * Was Search Performed? If you answered "YES" for the search performed you must complete the remainder of the questions as they apply. Your browser does not support inline frames or is currently configured not to display inline frames.you can scroll down through this example to view the completed mandatory racial profile questions. I have finished filling out the screen and answering the questions. How do I print? At the bottom of the ticket screen you will see a button for printing and exporting the ticket. You should insert your ticket into the printer and then push this button. Two things will happen. 1. Your ticket will print 2. You will receive a pop-up windows box telling you exported the data. (The data will now leave your laptop and is sent wireless into the Law and Justice Center.) I printed and exported now what should I expect to have happen? If your going to write other tickets to the same person you simply adjust the information on the screen to fit the new offense and bond. You will
note that after the first ticket is printed the racial profile questions have been "blanked out" along with the ticket number. are no longer mandatory. If a checkmark is placed in the box for "skipping" the racial profile requirement the remaining questions You can use this to skip the racial profile questions; if for example you are writing a ticket at an accident scene or writing multiple citations to the driver or other passengers from a traffic stop. If no other tickets are written exit the ticket software. DO NOT save changes as you exit the software. I printed and exported and now realize I must void the ticket because it didn't print properly. Should I complete the racial profile section again? If the changes on the corrected ticket effect the data you want represented on your traffic stop; complete the questions again. However, you should use the paper racial profile form to document the problem and make it clear what the problem was and how you corrected it. Example; Fill out the paper racial profile form providing date, time, and enough information explaining the previous ticket was voided but the correct information was made upon ticket #????? and submitted a second time on that ticket. Please remove ticket????? from the system. You must be clear which ticket is the voided information in order to remove it from the system. As always turn in the voided ticket... Can we issue warning tickets and satisfy the mandatory racial profiling questions?
Yes, we came up with a standardized warning notice. This notice works the same as the Citiation. You can choose the warning notice after you hold the Control button [CTRL] and press "U" on the keyboard. You can choose the Warning Citation. Written Warning Citation Your browser does not support inline frames or is currently configured not to display inline frames. You can scroll down through this example to view the Warning Citation. The same set of instructions apply here as with the Citation. If you choose to issue a written warning you can satisfy the racial profile requirement at the same time. Return to Index
