STAGE 4 North Girl s GIRL S SIDE BOY S SIDE 1 South Boy s 3 2 Cox Pavilion Tunnel 216 GRADUATION INFORMATION It is the philosophy of the Clark County School District and Palo Verde High School that high school graduation ceremonies are designed to honor graduates with commencement activities that are solemn and dignified. The following information deals with the rules and procedures for graduation. These rules have been developed and approved by the Clark County Board of School Trustees. BEHAVIOR OF GRADUATES Any student who does not exhibit proper behavior will be immediately removed from the graduation area. A diploma will not be issued to the student at that time but will be issued to the parents at a conference with the school principal to be requested by the parents and held at a time designated by the principal. School personnel are assigned supervisory responsibilities to assist graduates during the ceremonies. Should a student be found to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the ceremony, he/she will be denied the opportunity to participate in the exercises and will be removed from the graduation area.

AUDIENCE ETIQUETTE Members of the audience must refrain from distracting noises during the graduation ceremony. Please do not bring whistles, noise makers, air horns, or other devices that will disrupt the ceremony and prevent others from hearing the names of the graduates. All noise makers will be confiscated. Please allow all audience members to hear the name of that special graduate they came to honor. LOCATION AND TIME The graduation ceremony for the Palo Verde High School Class of 216 will be held at the Thomas and Mack Center on Monday, June 6, 216, at 9: a.m. Guests should use the Swenson entrance; Thomas and Mack personnel will direct guests to the appropriate parking areas. Graduates must report to the tunnel area no later than 8:15a.m. Only PVHS graduates will be allowed inside the area. Families wishing to sit together should arrive early starting at approximately 8: a.m., as saving of seats is not permitted. Graduates arriving after the processional has begun will not be allowed to participate in the ceremonies. TICKETS Admission will be by ticket only. Each graduate will receive ten (1) tickets on May 18 th or 19 th during graduation orientation. Parents/guardians may obtain up to ten (1) additional tickets at the school s receptionist area from May 2 -June 3, during regular office hours, 6:45 a.m. to 2:5 p.m. These additional tickets will not be issued to students. Individual picture/video information will be given to all seniors at the orientation meetings. MORTARBOARD (CAP) THROWING Due to the possibility of injury, the throwing of mortarboards prior to, during, or following the commencement exercise is strictly prohibited.
