Lakshmi June 08, 2016 Program Director Program on Leadership and Performance Management in Social Sector (September 26-30, 2016) Dear Participants, Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) is pleased to announce the Program on Leadership and Performance Management from September 26-30, 2016 at its Bella Vista Campus in Hyderabad. We believe that employees can do enviable things given the opportunity, responsibility and authority and a little bit of inspiration. In fact, many of them have shown great leadership qualities in their chosen fields and have created positive impacts towards their organisations. As senior functionaries in organisations /governments, one is expected to be role model and to do what is right, and we do remember that we live longer with our conscience than we will with organisations/ government. The subject of Leadership is very delicate and fragile. Thus what is needed is a radical change in the manner in which governance is carried out which will ensure performance by the employees as well considered setting new tasks and provision of resources to carry them out. Cordially yours, LAKSHMI.B Encl : Brochure and Nomination form
Encourage others Challenge the Process Inspire others to act Set an example Leadership through Learning Program on Leadership and Performance Management in Social Sector September 26 30, 2016 Administrative Staff College of India
OBJECTIVES Leadership is the process through which an individual tries to influence another individual or a group of individuals to accomplish a goal. Leadership is valued in our culture, especially when it helps to achieve goals that are beneficial to the population, such as the enactment of effective policies. An individual with leadership qualities can also improve an organisation and the individuals in it. Many studies have been done and many books and articles have been published on this subject. Through this work a consistent set of leadership attributes has emerged. An effective leader does most, if not all, of the following: Challenge the Process search out challenging opportunities, take risks, and learn from mistakes. Inspire others to act help others to work together, to cooperate and collaborate by developing shared goals and building trust, and help to make others stronger by encouraging them to develop their skills and talents. Set an example behave in ways that are consistent with professed values and help others to achieve small gains that keep them motivated, especially when a goal will not be achieved quickly. Encourage others - recognise each individual's contributions to the success of a project. COURSE Leadership can be exhibited in a variety of ways and circumstances. Leaders develop services that meet the needs of the communities they serve, or work in services by incorporating Team building, Emotional intelligence, Interpersonal effectiveness, Good communication skills, soft skills and Transactional analysis.
