1. 2. User Rights User account provided to access the domain should be a member of the Administrators and Domain Admins group. To assign these rights: A. Go to Administrative Tools. B. Open Active Directory Users and Computers. C. Select User Properties. D. Click Member Of. E. Click Add Group. F. Select the following Groups: Administrators, Domain Admins. G. 3. Domain Configuration - Active Directory Domain Information The first step in Software configuration requires you to configure domain by providing Domain credentials. You can add multiple domains to software. To add a domain use Add Domain button on the toolbar. To configure the domain: A. Set the following parameters: Domain/Server Name: Specify Domain name or IP of the PDC. User Name: Specify User Account to access Domain. Password: Specify the password. B. Click on the Configure to set the domain. User Account provided in the User Name field should have Administration rights for the domain. 4. Email Configuration After the Domain has been added, you can proceed to Email Configuration to configure mail server settings. It is essential to configure mail server settings before you can start sending Alerts and Schedule Reports. To configure the Email Server: A. Set the following fields: Exchange Server Name: Provide Exchange Server s name or IP. SMTP port: Provide port number. The default value for most email servers is 25 without SSL. B. If the server requires authentication, select Server Requires Authentication checkbox and provide User Name and Password in the respective fields. C. If the server requires SSL encrypted connection, select the checkbox against it. D. Specify sender s email address in the Sender s Email field, which will be used for sending Alerts and Schedule Reports. Use Send Test Email button to send a test mail to check if the mail server setting has been configured correctly. Copyright 2015 Lepide Software Private Limited 8

4.1 If you are using Exchange Server 2007, 2010 or 2013 as Email server If you are using Exchange Server 2007, 2010, or 2013 as your email server, recipients may not receive Alerts/Scheduled Reports even after you have configured the email server in LUPER. In that case, follow these simple steps to complete the configuration: 1. Open Exchange Management Console. 2. Expand Server Configuration option and click Hub Transport. 3. Open Properties of Receive Connectors. 4. Go to Permission Groups and enable Anonymous Users. 5. Click Apply. Copyright 2015 Lepide Software Private Limited 10
5. Alert Configuration Once the Domain configuration and Email configuration is complete, you can proceed to configure Alerts. Alert Configuration allows Administrators and Users to take necessary action before Users password expires. To configure Alerts, click Alert Configuration option under Settings pane. Alert Configuration page appears. To configure Alerts: A. Set parameters for Notification Settings. Selected OUs: Select the OUs for which you want to configure the alert using Select OUs button. Generate Alert At: Select the time at which you want to generate the alert. B. Set parameters for Notify Administrator. In this section notification alerts settings for Administrator is done. Notify about Users whose password expires in: Specify number of days before which you want to send alerts to administrator regarding password expiry. Send Alert to Administrator: Specify administrator s email address to which alerts will be sent. Select Template: Select alert template with Add button. By default, it contains all the columns associated with User Accounts in Active Directory. You can remove the columns that you don t want to include in the alert notification. C. Set parameters for Notify Users. In this section, you can set notification alerts for users. Email address of the Users is picked up from their Active Directory account for sending alerts. Everyday if password expires in: Using this option, daily alerts can be sent to Users before their password expires. Specify number of days for which alerts will be daily sent to Users till their password expires. In the second option, three alerts are sent to Users before their password expires. First time when password expires in: Specify number of days before which first alert will be sent to Users. Second time when password expires in: Specify number of days before which second alert will be sent to Users. Last time when password expires in: Specify number of days before which third alert will be sent to Users. Only when password expires in: If you select this option, only one alert will be sent to Users before their password expires. Specify number of days before which the alert will be sent to Users. Note: For each alert sent to Users, a consolidated email is also sent to the administrator. If Users email address is not updated in their Active Directory account, they will not receive any notification alert. D. Click on Apply to save these settings.
