3rd Grade works together in table groups to model what a computer does. A computer has an input, then processes the information, and then has an output. TO imitate this, students could only do the job they were assigned, and only one person at the table could talk. With group cooperation, acting like a computer, they all succeed in finishing a silly Mad Libs story. 5th Grade creating Input/Output Machines to introduce Vex IQ kits and starting to explore robotics.

It is almost time to start getting out the new winter coats, hats and gloves. If your student has outgrown last year s winter attire and you need some assistance, contact Mrs. Woods. The Franklin County United Way is helping SRES students with new winter coats. I will just need the student size. It s almost time for Thanksgiving! Did you know that on top of all of the delicious food we eat, taking time to think about gratitude is actually good for your health? Recent research by Dr. Robert Emmons from the University of California found that those who expressed gratitude on a regular basis reported fewer symptoms of physical illness as well as reduced stress and depression. Let s make every day a day for giving thanks! As COVID 19 cases in the area continue to increase, more and more students are learning from home for short periods of time. The American Psychological Association has some great resources for parents on helping students to deal with having to be quarantined. You can access those resources here.
