INTERMEDIATE DISTRICT 287 CLASSIFICATION DESCRIPTION CLASSIFICATION TITLE: Human Resources Coordinator INCUMBENT NAME: REPORTS TO: Director of Human Resources DEPARTMENT: Human Resources BARGAINING UNIT CLASSIFICATION Unaffiliated FLSA DESIGNATION: Exempt PART I SUMMARY OF SCOPE OF CLASSIFICATION This class is accountable for ensuring the proper functioning of the Human Resources Department and administering human resources services to all District staff. This position interfaces with all District administrators as it relates to human resources services. This position is responsible for all aspects of staff as it relates to Human Resources. PART II MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES A. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: General Experience: Five (5) years of experience in human resource management involving recruitment, selection, examination, classification, compensation, employee relations and/or employee benefits. Substitutions Allowed: College training in human resources, industrial relations, personnel management, business administration, education or other human resource related area may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equaling six (6) months of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor s degree. Comprehensive knowledge of computer software systems, including Microsoft office products and human resources management systems; 2. Thorough knowledge of relevant state and federal statutes and regulations; 3. Knowledge of school district organizations, functions, operations and jobs;

4. Knowledge of educational goals, teaching, educational system and district philosophy as it impacts the support functions and responsibilities of the manager job duties; 5. PART III POSITION SUPERVISES This position may supervise staff and may provide work direction to others in the department. PART IV ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The following identifies the primary and essential functions of the position and is not intended to be an exhaustive listing of all duties. 1. Oversee and manage the orientation and onboarding process for new employees, substitutes and summer ESY; 2. Responsible for the coordination and administration of the HR Information Services (HRIS) and transactions. Evaluate, analyze and maintain HRIS records to ensure data integrity; 3. Initiates, prepares and sends correspondence for Human Resources; 4. Consults with and formulate recommendations with Director on Human Resources practices; 5. Coordinate, develop and train district staff on relevant HR procedures and practices; 6. Work across organizational lines to ensure effective workflow processes and procedures; 7. Responsible for the coordination, calculation and administration of employee salaries. Furnish and interpret salary information to pertinent departments, ie payroll and finance; 8. Collaborate with administration to determine specific decision making timelines for informed decision making; 9. Gather, compile and report employee information to MDE via MDE s STAR Web Edit system; 10. Monitor, maintain and administer the employee evaluation system in accordance with the contract agreements and state legislation; 11. Coordinate and process all phases of separations, FMLA, workers compensation/return to work and leave of absences in accordance with the contract agreements and federal and state legislation; 12. Responsible for the planning, development, coordination and implementation of district benefit plans; 13. Manage insurance eligibility, enrollment and processing; 14. Serve as the District 287 liaison with insurance carriers and third party administrators; 15. Oversee the District wide wellness program and activities; 16. Coordinates and supports Human Resource Director and department staff for the purpose of assisting in the performance of their work activities and ad-hoc projects as assigned; 17. Develop and maintain effective relationships within the District and external partners; 18. Collaborate, facilitates and/or participates in meetings and workshops, etc for the purpose of working with others to act as problem solver and identifying issues that arise;

19. Foster a culture of innovation and facilitate action on innovative ideas in order to achieve our mission; 20. Perform other duties as assigned.
