Wayland Baptist University Student Services (IQ Web) - Instructions for Students What is WBU Student Services? WBU Student Services is an internet web site for Wayland Baptist University that offers a wealth of information to WBU students at the click of a mouse. A student can view their grades, register for classes, print their schedule, make payments on their account, update address information, etc. How to Access Student Services Go to www.wbu.edu and access Student Services through the Student Services (IQ Web) link on the bottom, left-hand side of the screen. Create Your Account for Student Services (New Students only) If you are a new student to Wayland Baptist University, the first step will be to create your login account. Create your account on WBU Student Services by clicking on the Request Account link under the Login menu, as shown below. Fill in the blanks with all of your information. Blanks with the red * beside them are required to be filled. In the Date of Birth field, be sure to separate the month, year, and date with slashes: mm/dd/yyyy. 1
Once you have filled in all required information, click the Request Account button. Your account will be created, and you will receive confirmation on the screen that your account has been created. You will then be able to login from that screen, if you wish. Login to WBU Student Services (Existing Students) If you are already a WBU student, or have been in the past, you should be able to login to the WBU Student Services by going to www.wbu.edu and clicking on the Student Services (IQ Web) link on the bottom, left-hand side of the screen. The User Name will be your WBU Student ID number (9 digits) and the password will be whatever you set it to when you created your account. If you cannot remember your password, you can contact the I.T. Help Desk at 800-203-9048, and they can reset the password for you. If you have not logged in to WBU Student Services since it was upgraded November, 2010, your password will be the first four letters of your first name, then a period, followed by the first four letters of your last name, UPPERCASE, then a period, then the last four digits of your social security number. (Example: john.smit.1234) 2
Navigation Once you have successfully logged in to WBU Student Services, there are many resources available to you as a WBU student. To navigate through the different resources, use the tabs located across the top of the screen. Once you have clicked on the tab you wish to access, you will also find submenu choices listed directly below the tab, to the left-hand side of the screen. Home The Home tab is where you can update your Pioneer Alert (emergency notification), view Tutorials for using WBU Student Services, search through the catalog for courses, register for courses if you are eligible, and also view your current class schedule, as well as class schedules for previous or future semesters. Register The Register tab is where a student who is eligible to register on-line may register for courses during periods of open registration on-line. On-line Payment is another option available under the Register tab, and allows students to make payments for their tuition and/or setup a three payment plan to pay for tuition and fees. Classes The Classes tab is another area where Students can view their course schedule. 3
Finances The Finances tab offers students the ability to make On-line Payments, check the current balance due for tuition and fees, view/print a statement of their account, and to see any anticipated Financial Aid that has been posted to their account. Grades The Grades tab allows students to print an Unofficial Transcript or a Grade Report by term of all the courses taken at WBU. To receive an official transcript, you will need to contact the Office of the Registrar at the address listed on the screen. Click the link for Unofficial Transcript on the left. This will show you a complete unofficial record of your transcript for Wayland Baptist University. 4
Clicking on the Grade Report link will show you a grade report, or report card, of all of your grades for the classes attended at Wayland Baptist University. As WBU no longer sends out report cards or grade reports to students, this is the way you can view your grades. Search - How to Find Courses Available at WBU To search for a class, click the Search tab at the top. Click the Course Catalogue link to find names and descriptions of courses. 5
If no information is entered into the search boxes, all of the classes for all Wayland campuses will be presented on the next screen. To more easily find the courses you are searching for, please enter some search criteria in order to narrow down the search. You are more likely to find what you are searching for if you only enter minimal information in the search fields, such as only the College. To add a class to your schedule, click on the Search tab and click the Section Search. You can either search for a specific class, or leave the search boxes blank and view all classes for all Wayland Campuses. 6
Make sure that you are searching within the right campus by clicking the down arrow beside Session and picking the campus choice that applies to you. You can also refine your search by using the menu to the left. When you find the class that you want to add, click the Add button to the right of the class. 7
NOTE: You will only be able to add courses to your schedule during the period when registration is open. After clicking the Add button, a box pops up that tells you the class has been added to your cart. You can view your cart by clicking View Cart. To remove the class, go to your cart and click on the Remove button underneath the class you wish to remove. To view your course schedule click the Classes tab at the top, and then click the Schedule link on the left of the screen under the tabs. Then you must choose Student Schedule on the next screen. You can view your schedule in either text form or grid form by choosing from the buttons to the left of the schedule. 8
Clicking on the class name brings up the course description. My Profile Your personal information can be accessed and updated under the My Profile tab at the top of the screen. 9
To change your password, click on the Account Information link on the left side of the page. On the next page, click Password. Fill in your old password and then create a new password according to the instructions at the top. The Personal Information tab contains demographic information regarding the student and can be edited if needed. The Ethnicity and Race tab contains information required by the federal government to be collected by Educational Institutions. Please check this information and make sure it is correct. The Addresses tab is where a student can view the current address information that WBU has on file and correct it as necessary. The Phone Numbers tab is where a student can view the current contact telephone numbers that WBU has on file and correct them as needed. Logout It is very important that you logout of WBU Student Services when you are finished so that you one else will be able to view your records. Do not just exit out of the window, or it will not log you out and will leave your session open. Support If you need additional assistance using WBU Student Services, please contact the I.T.
