Undergraduate courses The QUT Bachelor of Business combines theory and practice, equipping you to enter the workplace with confidence. Bachelor of Business (BS05) Duration: three years full time With a flexible course structure, this degree will provide you with the core business skills and discipline-based expertise to suit your needs and career aspirations. Expand your degree Double degree (four to five-year options) Combine your business degree with study in another area of interest. Degree plus honours. Expand your knowledge of research methods and techniques while developing specialist knowledge of your chosen subject. Entry requirements: Minimum academic requirements must be met to gain admission to QUT courses. These requirements can be found at www.qut.edu.au/international/ applying. English language proficiency IELTS 6.5 (with sub-scores of at least 6.0) or equivalent. Your degree Your 24-unit business degree is made up of three distinct parts Core foundation units eight common core units, giving you an introduction to the principles of business. These are typically completed within the first three semesters. plus Primary major your major is the main area of study for what you aspire to become professionally. Each primary major is made up of eight units and there are nine majors to choose from. plus Complementary study after choosing your primary major you can tailor your degree to best match your career goals. Undertake a second major, a minor or optional units from across QUT. MAJORS Accounting I Advertising I Economics I Finance I Human Resource Management I International Business I Management I Marketing I Public Relations University Diploma in Business (BS40) Duration: two semesters full time Your pathway to the second year of the QUT Bachelor of Business. Available for students who do not meet the academic or English language requirements for direct entry into the Bachelor of Business program. This program is equivalent to two semesters of the Bachelor of Business degree. Study six core units as well as two English language units. Successful completion of this program allows direct entry to the second year of the Bachelor of Business degree. Entry requirements: IELTS 5.5 (with sub-scores of at least 5.0) or equivalent. Minimum academic requirements also apply. Eileen Hui, Singapore Bachelor of Business (Marketing) I was attracted to the QUT Business School because of the practicality of the courses, the strong industry focus and the ample opportunities to undertake real-world assignments. It is the teamwork opportunities and the challenging hands-on projects that have enhanced my critical thinking and communication skills and allowed me to put knowledge into practice. I am involved in East West a club bringing people from various backgrounds together and have had the opportunity to undertake an exchange program in Korea. I enjoy the inclusion and multiculturalism at QUT as it allows me to be exposed to interesting people, perspectives and practices. 5

Build on your knowledge from previous studies or change career direction into a range of business professions, even if you have not studied business before. Entry requirements: Undergraduate degree (Australian equivalent) with GPA of 4.0 on the QUT 7-point scale. Students entering the Master of Business (Accounting) major must have an appropriate accounting degree; English language proficiency IELTS 6.5 (with sub-scores of at least 6.0) or equivalent. Master of Business Pathway If you have IELTS 6.0 (with sub-scores of at least 5.0) you can still complete the masters program in 1.5 or two years, but will complete two communication units in the first semester. Available with the following majors: Applied Finance, Integrated Marketing Communication, International Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Strategic Advertising. Credit for prior learning If you have prior studies directly relevant to your major, you may be able to complete your masters in as little as one year. Seung Hee Lee, South Korea Master of Business (Professional Accounting and Applied Finance), double degree QUT Business School is helping me reach my career goals by training me in practical and effective curriculum. There are lots of career workshops such as entering the job market, interview and resumé skills. I can access computer labs any time of the day or night. It is a very comfortable place to study. At the completion of my studies I hope to gain a position in the accounting or finance area. 6

My study focuses on the governance of family-controlled firms and the significant differences between Australian and Thai business environments, such as legal systems, ownership structure and control. Upon completion of my studies I would like to work in the academic area as a lecturer or researcher. 8

International double masters With QUT Business School you can combine study and travel, and gain a masters degree from QUT and another internationally recognised university at the same time. QUT Business School currently has partnerships with the Maastricht University School of Business and Economics in the Netherlands and EDHEC Business School in France.
