IMPORTANT DATES January 8 Course Recommendations by Teachers January 9-16 Parent/Student Select Classes ONLINE January 17-29 Students finalize with Counselor through math classes May 21-31 VERIFY and submit changes if necessary

COURSE RECOMMENDATION DAY! January 8 th TODAY!! Core subject teachers recommend next year s required courses. Teachers will share this information with you today. Keep track of suggested courses on your Tip Sheet. Questions regarding a recommendation? Consult your current teacher in that subject regarding the reason for his/her recommendation. To request a level change to an Honors or AP course, see the Department Chair of that subject area by January 31st. Department Chairs will communicate approved level changes directly to counselors. Go online for a 4-year planning worksheet and full list of graduation & public university requirements.

Through both independent and collaborative work, students produce The Stampede every month.

SELECTING COURSES ONLINE! January 9 th through January 16 th Select all courses online! The next slide shows how to pick classes through Home Access Center. The information on the next slide can also be found on your tip sheet ( Step 4: Select! )

SELECTING COURSES ONLINE! January 9 th through January 16 th 1. Go to https://homeaccess.ipsd.org/homeaccess/ and log in. Click on Course Requests on the menu on the left-hand side of the screen. 2. This icon indicates a pre-loaded course request for a required class. Contact the MV Department Chair of that subject area by January 31 st for any level change requests. 3. Click this icon for a list of classes in each Department. A drop down menu will appear. To select each course, check the box under Request 4. First choose your electives, then pick alternate to this course for each of your first choice electives. Be sure to click Save each time you select a course. Confirm that Total Credits is 7.0 and that you have selected an alternate course for each of your electives. Then click Save

MEET! January 17 th through January 29 th *Enter course requests in HAC prior to your scheduled meeting with your counselor. *Meet with your counselor individually on your assigned day during math class to finalize course selections. Your math teacher will let you know your assigned day. *Give careful consideration to your selections since some of these options may not be available to you if you do not request them during the January course enrollment period. *REMINDER: To request a level change, see the Department Chair of that subject area by January 31st. VERIFY! May 21 st through May 31 st *Submit course change requests to counselors using the Schedule Change Request Form, available online or in your Class House. *Staffing and sectioning decisions were based on your original course selections. REQUESTS FOR CHANGES WILL BE PROCESSED ON A SPACE AVAILABLE BASIS OVER THE SUMMER.

Requests will be made based on birth date order. PLEASE NOTE: *Illinois State Law MANDATES successful completion of: -30 Classroom Hours -12 Behind-the-Wheel Hours (6 Driving / 6 Observation) Therefore, 5 or more absences from the classroom portion may result in being dropped from the class.
