Quick Plumbing Group commenced trading in 1952 in Victoria. The company was founded by Frank Quick. Alan Quick (Frank s son) joined the company in 1968. The company prospered forming a strong association with The Group to carry out many large projects in Melbourne. In 1991 Alan traveled to Sydney to carry out a contract to install the plumbing services to The Governor Phillip Macquarie Towers being built by, both of which are now considered landmark developments. Over the three years this project took Quick Plumbing did many other projects in Sydney. In 1996 Alan Quick established Quick Contracting (NSW) Pty Ltd (trading as Quick Plumbing) as a standalone company and has since become one of the most reliable Hydraulic Contractors in NSW. Sydney Chris O Brien Lifehouse Brookfield Multiplex $6.43 million Completed: 2013 Location: RPA, Sydney The 11 storey, 43,500 square metre facility includes ambulatory clinics, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, day surgery, integrative medicine, dry research, imaging facilities, pathology collection and offices. This stage also includes the construction of two floors to house in-patient beds and further research facilities. Winner of numerous worldwide competitions the building has been a huge success for the companies involved. 161 Castlereagh Street Tower ANZ & Legion House $3.3 and $0.5 million Completed: 2013 Location: Sydney The 161 Castlereagh St redevelopment comprises 50 level, 44 Storey premium grade office tower. It has 55,000 square metres of office space and 3,200 square metres of retail space. Quick Plumbing Group completed the project commenced by N&D Plumbing. The long partnership history with made for a successful transition to Quick Plumbing. It incorporate the Legion House, an existing 4 level heritage building, two single level retail buildings and a large open plaza space. has achieved a 6 Star NABERS Energy rating for Legion House. Quick Plumbing installed a bespoke Vacuum Toilet System contributing to the energy rating for the building. Joint Logistics Unit - East John Holland / Joss JV $10 million Completed: 2014 Location: Moorebank, NSW The (DLTP) has modernised and enhanced Defence s warehousing and distribution functions to provide optimum support to Defence operations. Moorebank Avenue, staff car-park, vehicle check-point and guardhouse including pass office; Office building for the JLU(E) headquarters staff; General Storage Warehouse of approximately 40,000 m2; Quick Plumbing further demonstrated the ability to meet ambitious program times to assist John Holland / Joss JV on the successful delivery of this large facility.
Sydney Montrose Apartments Hindmarsh $2.2 million Completed: 2015 Location: North Sydney The Montrose Apartment Development comprises of ground floor retail spaces of 5 units with a total GFA of 552m2, 104 apartments over ten levels, with three levels of basement parking providing 77 car spaces plus bicycle racks. The Quick Plumbing team designed into the building an efficient solution to minimise waiting time for hot water and integrate the stormwater pipework into a very tight structure. Port Botany Terminal #3 Laing O Rourke $3.77 million Completed: 2014 Location: Botany, Sydney Quick Plumbing carried out Infrastructure works to a new Freight terminal over a 46 hectare reclaimed area with substantial structural and rail elements to support the heavy-duty quay and stacking crane systems, all constructed in difficult tidal conditions and a sensitive environment. The project demonstrates Quick Plumbing s ability to work together with lead contractors on NSW Major Infrastructure in difficult conditions and deliver on key deadlines. Quick Plumbing demonstrated skill in coordinating various services in difficult ground conditions on a large open site with heavy rail integration and high ground loads. Newcastle Courthouse John Holland $2.2 million Completed: 2015 Location: Newcastle The new seven storey, 12,000 sqm building will be the largest and most technologically advanced NSW court complex outside of Sydney. The new high security courthouse will include 10 courtrooms and two tribunal rooms and will host sittings of the Supreme, District, Local and Drug Courts. Solar panels, energy efficient technology and the use of natural light will minimise the building s carbon footprint.
Sydney Westmead Hospital Thiess $7.3 million Completed: 2007 Location: Westmead, NSW The Westmead Hospital Infill Project was a series of 5 extensions built among the existing hospital during full operation. The Quick Plumbing Team worked with the Hospital Operation Staff and Thiess to plan and stage works while maintaining all essential services throughout and to meet the Project deadlines. Numerous times throughout the project this required partial shutdowns to allow connections and diversions to live services, all resulting in successful outcomes. The Establishment Multiplex $3.5 million Completed: 2000 Location: Sydney A combination of Boutique 33 room hotel and 5 levels of Bar and Restaurants in a combination of existing and new building was an excellent challenge for the Quick Plumbing Team. The development contains the Establishment Bar, Est Restaurant, Tank Nightclub and of course the Establishment Boutique Hotel. The rooms boast Bathrooms generously laidout with double-sinks, rain showers and the occasional soaking tub in larger room categories. The deadline for the completion of the development was challenging but met proudly by the Quick Plumbing & Multiplex Teams in time for the Sydney Olympic Games. Governor Phillip & Macquarie Towers $14.8 million Completed: 1994 Location: Sydney The two towers built in the original Government House Site in the early 90 s were the first projects undertaken by Quick Plumbing in NSW. The brief called for a state of the art, high quality office building utilizing the maximum floor space within the given envelope. This resulted in the main tower having a 10 level foyer. The buildings set the benchmark standard for office buildings in Sydney since their completion. Throughout the project the goal to achieve best practice resulted in the choice of top shelf materials, fixtures and techniques.
Melbourne Crown Casino $10 million Completed: 1996 Location: Melbourne Being awarded the contract for design and installation of hydraulic services to this most prestigious development in the heart of Melbourne gave us the chance to showcase our strengths, to design the program and carryout the installation while matching the builders program and budget. This was not a typical commercial building being almost a kilometer long with basements built below the Yarra water level, to the ornamental gas flares. Quick Plumbing partnered with James L. Williams to develop the design of and manage the installation of the Seasons of Fortune atrium water feature. Once again showing Quick Plumbing s expertise in successfully completing complex design and installations. Rialto Towers $5 million Completed: 1983 Location: Melbourne When built The Rialto Towers was the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere. poured the structure on a 4.5 day cycle. This was achieved by a group of service companies working as a team. Such a tall building caused main design and installation issues such as getting water up the building, storing enough water. The building has 13 storage tanks installing the vertical pipe work to allow for the progressive shrinkage of this type of building. Quick Plumbing showed it can work as a team player to complete a project with a complete design and installation brief. Hilton on the Park $500, 000 Completed: 1967 Location: Dillingham Constructions The 21 level Hilton Hotel was the first high rise project Quick Plumbing completed and was the start of many projects that have shaped the sky line of Melbourne. At the time it was one of the first high rise buildings completed and required that the services be capable of performing in this installation. Situated in East Melbourne overlooking the Fitzroy Gardens and the MCG. The Hilton Hotel was ahead of its time offering top levels of service and luxurious finishes to meet the Hilton brands high standards. Built by Dillingham Constructions with a brick façade and reinforced concrete structure it was built in an era when all the services were installed in cast iron and copper to a very high standard.
Canberra Edmund Barton Building Refurbishment Baulderstone $3.2 million Completed: 2010 Location: Canberra This Harry Seidler designed building sits in the Parliamentary Triangle in Barton close to Parliament House. It is to be the new headquarters for the Australian Federal Police from the end of 2009. The new AFP Headquarters will accommodate over 2000 staff in A Grade Quality office accommodation. Extensive work to the buildings services are being carried by Quick Plumbing including the connections to major services in the surrounding streets. 7 London Circuit & 18 Marcus Clarke Street Thiess $4.5 million Completed: 2008 Location: Canberra CBD The two office buildings built in the heart of Canberra business district were purpose built for a number of government tenants. Each building has rainwater capture and were designed with low maintenance and energy efficiency as the most important element of the services/design. Centrelink National Support Unit Multiplex $4.4 million Completed: 2008 Location: Tuggeranong, ACT The Centrelink building is a large office building of some 44000 square metres of office space with a large central atrium. It is a premium grade building purpose built for Centrelink. The design brief required Quick Plumbing to develop many innovative energy efficient and green features being rain water capture at a rate of 700 liters/ second. Grey water recycling at 20,000 litres/day used within the building for flushing and outside for garden watering. Two solar arrays to supply at least 50% of hot water requirements. This building is an example of Quick Plumbing s ability to design and build in today s green environment.
