Using the VMware View Client Using VMware View from a Browser While connected to a Keyano Lab computer through a desktop, you will notice a small dropdown button at the top of the screen:
When you click on this, it will drop down a bar at the top of the screen with your username information on it: When you click on your username, you will see a number of commands: 1
From this drop down, you will see the following functionality: Paste Text Toggle Full Screen Send Ctrl+Alt+Delete Help About VMware Blast Disconnect When selected, you can copy information from your desktop computer into the Keyano Lab Computer Switch between windowed and full screen mode This will send a Ctrl+Alt+Delete to the Keyano Lab Computer. Help files Information about the VMWare Blast software package Disconnect from the Keyano Lab Computer (ATTN: Save all work to an external drive or cloud storage before disconnecting) Using the VMware View Client on Windows When you are connected to the Keyano Lab desktop, you will notice a bar along the top of the desktop: The typical Windows controls are on the right hand side of the bar. These include minimize, maximize/restore, and close: The Keyboard button will bring up an onscreen keyboard: 2
The Ctrl-Alt-Delete button will pass a Ctrl-Alt-Delete to the Keyano Lab desktop: The USB button will drop down an expanded menu with the following options: Automatically Connect at Startup Automatically Connect when Inserted Atheros Generic Bluetooth Adapter Atmel maxtouch Digitizer When checked, USB devices that are plugged into the local system will automatically connect to the Keyano Lab Desktop when the VMware View client starts. When checked, USB devices that are plugged into the local system will automatically connect to the Keyano Lab Desktop when the device is plugged into the local system. Check to connect a Bluetooth device to the Keyano Lab Desktop Check to connect a Digitizer to the Keyano Lab Desktop 3
The Options button will drop down an expanded menu with the following options: Help Support Information About VMware Horizon View Client Autoconnect to this Desktop Enable Relative Mouse Send Ctrl-Alt-Delete Reset Desktop Disconnect Disconnect and Log Off Help documents for the VMware View desktop client Provides technical support with detailed technical information Information about the VMWare Horizon View desktop client Allows you to connect to a default Desktop automatically Enables relative mouse for CAD and other 3D applications Sends a Ctrl-Alt-Delete to the Keyano Lab desktop Resets the Keyano Lab desktop that you are currently working on (Unsaved data is lost) Disconnects from the Keyano Lab desktop Disconnects from the Keyano Lab desktop and logs out of the VMware View desktop client Using the VMware View Client on Mac When you connect to the Keyano Lab Desktop on a Mac computer, you will notice that by moving your mouse to the very top of the screen, you will bring up a system menu: From menu, you can access the VMware View client tools. Informational status on USB devices Using the VMware View Client on IOS devices (iphone, ipad, ipod) VMWare Horizon View client comes with a quick access menu. Using the VMWare View Client on Android The VMware View Client for Android comes with a quick access menu. This menu can be accessed by swiping from the left hand side of your screen. When open, you can easily access programs and files stored on the Keyano Lap Computer: The VMware View Client for Android comes with client tools. When in full screen mode, you can access the client tools by clicking on the 6 dots icon.
