1. Program Features Two time spans of MBA programs: One-year and four month intensive MBA program (Corporate Sponsor track) or two-year MBA program (General track, Dual Degree track) with more academic contents. Applicants can choose a program best fit to oneself. SBS offers three tracks and two majors so that you can make your own MBA study plan within 6 combinations. A. Specialized training by track The SBS sets up the following three specialized tracks, depending on requirements, in order to fully meet trainees needs: an general track for those who want to have knowledge for business administration and have opportunities to get a job in a business field; a corporate sponsor track for corporate employees in cooperation between the academia and industries; a dual degree track for MBA candidates. B. Specialized training by major area The course works are segmented into two concentration areas: management and finance in order to respond to the demand for business experts in management and finance. C. All Lectures are conducted in English The SBS provides lectures in English for all of the required courses. Foreigners whose native language is not Korean, can learn with Korean students and finish all MBA requirements. In class, case studies on international corporations are also emphasized in order to help learners acquire global business sense and adapt to the internationalized corporate environments. 2. Eligibility for Application Foreign applicants are those who have citizenship of foreign countries including parents, or those whose parents don t have foreign citizenships must graduate elementary, middle, high school and university (or be expected to graduate from an accredited four-year college before March) in the foreign country. Overseas applicants who do not meet these qualifications must apply for admission for Koreans. 5. Required Documents (1) Completed application form (Download) with 3 photos attached and 3 extra photos (3.5 4.5cm). (2) Letter of recommendation from (Download) at least 1 professor or office senior, etc. (The person who can evaluate objectively) *Recommendation should be written in SGSB s own form. (3) Diploma or a certificate of pending degree officially confirmed by the university. (4) Official transcripts of all colleges and graduate schools attended should be original. (5) A statement of purpose in English: an essay (2 pages double-spaced, font size 10, using MS word processor) that enunciates the reasons why the applicant is interested in SGSB program, the applicant s life experiences and future career plans. (6) 1 copy of passport for non-korean citizen (the copy will be checked with the original copy). (7) 1 copy of a Verification of Deposit (over $10,000) of the person responsible for student s expenses balance ($10,000). If you don t have Korean visa at the time of application, you must submit the verification of deposit. The deposit amount of $10,000 must be maintained within the selected account for a minimum of one month. *If the owner of bank account is not you, we also need the official certificate of relationship. *If you are under a F-4 visa, you don t need to submit the Verification of Deposit. For Chinese students, besides the requirements above, we need the certificate of graduation, Household (of all family members including you), and the copy of your Identification Card. 7. Scholarships for international students A. Subject of scholarship: applicants who have submitted a scholarship application form. B. Method of Selection: based on the admission score and submitted language proficiency test scores at first semester, based on the academic achievement after second semester. C. Types of scholarships [At the first semester] (1) International Student Scholarship S : Provide 100% of tuition fee : Open to 1) Candidates with English as a primary language. or 2) Candidates who can demonstrate facility in English using one of the following English proficiency test. (above IBT TOEFL 100, PBT TOEFL 610, CBT TOEFL 250, TEPS 770 or IELTS 6.6) (2) International Student Scholarship A : Provide 75% of tuition fee : Open to 1) Candidates who can demonstrate facility in English using one of the following English proficiency test. (above IBT TOEFL 80, PBT TOEFL 550, CBT TOEFL 210, TEPS 550 or IELTS 5.5) (3) International Student Scholarship B : Provide 50% of tuition fee : Open to 1) Candidates who can demonstrate facility in English using one of the following English proficiency test. (above IBT TOEFL 70, PBT TOEFL 530, CBT TOEFL 200, TEPS 530 or IELTS 5.0) To apply for International Student Scholarship, you are supposed to Submit 1 copy of language proficiency test scores when applying. Only the English tests you took within 2 years (from applying) are valid. At the first semester, the dean of Sogang business school decides acceptance or rejection of the scholarship by judgment. [After the second semester] SBS offers scholarship to all attending students according to their academic achievement after second semester. Scholarship would be provided as 100%, 75%, 50%, and 25% deduction of tuition fee. (1) Over 4.00: 100% of tuition fee (2) Over 3.70 ~ under 4.00: 75% of tuition fee (3) Over 3.50 ~ under 3.70: 50% of tuition fee (4) Over 3.00 ~ under 3.50: 25% of tuition fee 4
8. Studying abroad visa and Certificate of Admission Certificate of Admission will be issued to students who have completed the payment of tuition fee. To get a student visa (D-2) the applicant will need to bring the documents listed below to a nearby Diplomatic/Immigration Office. (The university will not handle the business of issuing visas.) The student will be notified of his/her visa number individually and should visit the Embassy of Korea in the country concerned to apply for a visa. *Inquiries regarding visas should be made at the Immigration Office. 10. Important notes for all applicants A. All details recorded in documents should be precise. If there is any false information on the documents, admission of the applicant may be revoked. Applicants should take full responsibility for any disadvantages due to the mistakes or omissions of the application documents. B. The tuition per semester is about 9.1 million won for General track (excluding enrollment fees). C. Admission to the SGBS may be revoked before or after the enrollment of the school if the applicant turns out to be disqualified from an eligibility issue. D. Admission scores and evaluation processes are strictly confidential. E. It is impossible to apply for a leave of absence at the first semester. F.
