HND IN DANCE IGNITE provides the most intensive practical dance training on offer. Our priority is to prepare our dancers for specialist dance schools and conservatoires. We currently have students in every major dance school in the UK including LABAN, Laine Theatre Arts, Northern School of Ballet and Bird College. The HND Dance course provides the most intensive practical dance training in the West Midlands. Performance work lies at the heart of this course. Specific Contemporary techniques are studied alongside traditional Classical Ballet, Jazz and Urban Dance. Choreography is used to expand creative thinking and theoretical studies are used to further enhance and support students understanding of Dance. We are known for producing high quality dancers who progress into further dance training or professional employment. RSL DIPLOMA FOR MUSIC PRACTITIONERS EMERGING ARTISTS ACADEMY The main focus of the course is on artist and repertoire development. You will be encouraged to explore yourself as an artist, manager or producer, evolving your music, your image and your brand. You will learn to develop yourself professionally in the context of the music industry today. Course content includes Management and Networking Skills, Songwriting and Music Production, Promotion and Marketing and Creating Personal Goals. HND IN MUSIC PERFORMANCE If you are a musician who wants to develop your creative, improvising, theory and reading skills then this is the course for you. Developed by Andy Edwards (Robert Plant, Frost*, IQ), this course is designed to develop fully rounded musicians that can work in the rapidly changing world of contemporary music. Foundation Degree IN Radio PRODUCTION This two-year full-time course focuses on the growing demand for radio professionals, developing relevant skills and expertise to an industry level. A practical and theory based course that places strong emphasis on hands on experience working and running a live radio studio, producing playlists and podcasting, organising live radio events, promotion and marketing for radio. There is a vibrant mix of lectures, seminars, workshops as well as individual and group project work. You will have access to current industry-standard resources including a fully working studio equipped with industry standard technology. ABOUT Higher National Diplomas Higher National Diplomas (Level 5) provide a programme of specialist vocational learning. These qualifications reflect the requirements of professional organisations and meet the National Occupational Standards for each sector or industry. With their strong emphasis on developing practical skills alongside specialist knowledge and understanding of the sector, Higher National Diplomas are recognised internationally by employers as providing learners with the key concepts and practical skills for direct progression to, or within, employment. WHAT IS A HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA? A Higher National Diploma (HND) is an internationally recognised Level 5 vocational qualification that provides a vocational alternative to degree-level learning. An HND is equivalent to second year of University and can be converted into an Honours degree with additional study at a University (HNDs can allow entry into the second or third year at University). HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO COMPLETE AN HND? Full-time: Two years Part-time: Four years HOW ARE HNDs ASSESSED? HNDs are mainly assessed through assignments, projects and practical tasks that you complete throughout the course, not via exams. However, this differs dependent upon the subject you choose to study. All work is externally verified. 22 23
