John R. Bailey Bailey-Kennedy LLP Senior Partner John Bailey is an attorney specializing in corporate litigation, healthcare law, and gaming law. He is the founding member and managing partner of Bailey Kennedy, LLP. He is acting chairman of the Moral Character and Fitness Committee of the Nevada State Bar. He earned his law degree from McGeorge School of Law. John was recommended for a Judgeship on the U.S. Court of Appeals. He is a director of the Public Education Foundation and Council for Better Nevada. Mr. Bailey is also the chairman of the advisory board of the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy. Nancy E. Brune, Ph.D. Executive Director Kenny Guinn Center for Policy Priorities Dr. Nancy Brune is the executive director of the Kenny Guinn Center for Policy Priorities, a nonprofit, bipartisan, think-do tank focused on independent, fact-based, relevant, and well-reasoned analysis of critical policy issues facing the state of Nevada. In addition, she currently serves on the Knowledge Fund Advisory Council, the English Mastery Council and the Advisory Council on Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM). She received her Ph.D. from Yale and her Master of Public Policy and B.A. degrees from Harvard University. Ardell Galbreth Executive Director Workforce Connections As the executive director of Workforce Connections, Ardell Galbreth serves as the agency s chief staff officer. He has the responsibility for working with state and local workforce development agencies in developing strategic employment and training work plans in support of Southern Nevada Workforce Investment areas. Maria Jose Gatti is responsible for fostering and maintaining relationships with national and local community organizations that focus on diversity and equality issues. Through these relationships, she supports the company s business objectives, and additionally facilitates its participation in programs and events that support the community. She also implements programs to help educate and engage the employees of MGM Resorts on diversity related initiatives, activities and issues. Maria is also the program director for the MGM Resorts Foundation Women s Leadership Conference, which focuses on the professional development of women of all industries. Vida Chan Lin Vice President of Economic Development OCA Asian Advocacy Group Vida Lin is a 20-year insurance executive and has been an integral part in the rapid growth of the Asian business community in Southern Nevada. She oversees multi-lingual staffs that have been able to assist investors, developers and business owners in the rapidly expanding Spring Mountain Corridor as well as throughout the Las Vegas Valley. Vida is currently the past President of the Asian Chamber of Commerce and she is the first woman to hold the title in the chamber s 24-year history. Norberto Madrigal Lunas Construction The Lunas Family started Lunas Construction cleanup in 1988 with just a few small pickups. The North Las Vegas business now hauls over 35 hundred cubic yards of trash a day. Norberto Madrigal has worn many hats in his career water truck guy, demolition crew member, entrepreneur, philanthropist, CEO and more and offers a unique outlook to the management of multi-disciplinary projects and complex challenges. In addition, Norberto served as an inaugural member of the CSN North Las Vegas Advisory Board. Paul Moradkhan Vice President Government Affairs Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce Paul Moradkhan oversees the Metro chamber s extensive advocacy efforts on public policy priorities at the federal, regional, state and local levels. Paul has a Masters of Public Policy from Pepperdine University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree from UNLV. He is a 2012 graduate of the Leadership Las Vegas program and was named one of the 40 under 40 by Vegas Inc. in 2014. Shaundell Newsome Sumnu Marketing Founder After a decade in the USAF and seven years with Station Casinos, Shaundell Newsome founded Newsome Marketing Enterprises in April 2006 to provide a marketing firm for the small business owner. In 2008, Newsome was recognized as one of the Top 40 under 40 business persons by In Business Las Vegas and Small Business Champion of the Year by the Small Business Administration.
He later launched Sumnu Marketing to realize over 40% new earnings. Sumnu Marketing was a finalist for the Small Business of the Year in the Women/Minority Owned Small Business category in 2012. Recently, Sumnu has been recognized as a Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Award honoree for 2014. Dennis Perea Interim Director and Deputy Director Nevada Department of Employment Training and Rehabilitation Dennis Perea has responsibility for ensuring quality delivery of the state s demand-driven business occupations. Jonas Peterson, Ph.D. COO Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance Prior to joining LVGEA, Dr. Jonas Peterson served as president/ceo of the Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corporation (SCVEDC). During his tenure, SCVEDC quickly emerged as one of the most productive economic development organizations in California. Peterson has conducted considerable research on comparative advantage and quantitative marketing. Randy Robison Director of Legislative Affairs CenturyLink Randy Robison is a native of Southern Nevada and his current post in a 20-year career in government affairs and advocacy is as the director of Legislative Affairs for CenturyLink in Las Vegas. He was an original member of the CSN North Las Vegas Advisory Board. He is a former Executive Director of the Nevada Association of School Boards, and he currently serves on the board of the American Red Cross Southern Nevada Chapter, the Clark County School District School-Community Partnership Advisory Council, and Nevada Volunteers the Governor s commission on community service and volunteerism. Randy lives in North Las Vegas with his beautiful wife and five children. Jose Solorio President & Founder PALO Political Advancement of Latinos Organization Jose Solorio, founder of PALO Political Advancement of Latinos Organization -- is a long-time Latino community advocate. He was the first Latino to serve on the Board of Trustees for the Clark County
School District. He has held various volunteer positions as an advocate for Latinos and the general community. In addition, he also served as an economic development analyst for the City of Las Vegas. A University of Nevada, Reno MBA graduate, Jose is a business owner who has provided business, marketing and political consulting services. Gaye Stockman, CEcD President & CEO Mesquite Regional Business, Inc. Gaye Stockman has worked in the community development and economic development profession since 1989. In February 2013, Gaye accepted the president/ceo position for the Mesquite Regional Business, Inc. Before that, she held the president /CEO position for Laramie Economic Development Corporation in Laramie, Wyoming, for five years. She also previously held the president/ceo position for the Loveland Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center for five years. Just prior to her service at the chamber, she held the vice president position for the Northern Colorado Economic Development Corporation based in Larimer County, Colorado and was responsible for primary business retention and expansion for the NCEDC. Before her employment in Northern Colorado, she was the Business Retention and Expansion Program Manager for the Wyoming Business Council, based in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Vice President of the Mesa County Economic Development Council (now the Grand Junction Economic Partnership) in Grand Junction, Colorado. During her 24 years in community and economic development, she assisted in the relocation/expansion of several key employers in Western Colorado. She has worked with numerous existing businesses with their retention and expansion projects and has negotiated strategic alliance contracts for statewide organizations in Wyoming. Prior to moving to Las Vegas in 2001, Shari Wong was an Emmy-award winning broadcast journalist in Washington, D.C., working as an anchor/report for the NBC station in the nation s capital for nearly a decade. Shari is actively involved in the Las Vegas community serving on the Smith Center for the Performing Arts Advisory Board, Trustee/Secretary for the Discovery Children s Museum Board of Trustees, the Meadows School parents association board and a community advisory member of CSN s Strategic Planning Committee.
