MENDEL GIEZEN ACADEMIC RESUMÉ Profile Currently, my research and teaching revolves around sustainable urban development and infrastructure. Within this field I work on projects in adaptive decision-making and planning of spatial interventions, the upscaling of low carbon urban development and the urban impact of the sharing economy. My article Keeping it Simple has recently been included in a book with essential readings on mega projects selected by Bent Flyvbjerg: Mega Project Planning and Management: Essential Readings. On a professional level, I am supportive, creative and enjoy working together with colleagues on research and teaching projects. With a background in Interdisciplinary Studies, Political Science, Urban Studies, and Planning, I easily build bridges within and between different disciplines. 2011 - present 2007-2012 Academic Career Assistant Professor Environmental Studies, Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, Utrecht University -Member OC (Education Committee) Bachelor and Master -Member Commission on Redesign of the Bachelors Environmental Studies, Environmental Sciences, and Innovation Sciences.
