Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. in Astronomy & Astrophysics or related fields. The successful applicant will have an outstanding research record, augment the present research strength of the Department, and have a demonstrated capacity for excellence in teaching and research. Cell & Systems Biology Cell & Developmental Biology Assistant Professor We are seeking applicants with demonstrated excellence in research areas that will complement the strengths of the Department of Cell & Systems Biology in genomics, plant and microbial biology, cell and developmental biology, or neurosciences. We will consider all outstanding applicants but are particularly interested in candidates that utilize advanced cell biological and imaging tools for the study of whole organism model systems. The successful candidate should have substantial postdoctoral experience and will pursue a vigorous internationally-recognized research program. Cinema Film & Media History Assist/Assoc Professor The Cinema Studies Institute (CSI) and the Department of History are seeking applicants with extensive knowledge of Film and Media history and Historiography. Knowledge from a range of approaches that may include economic, political-economic, cultural, industrial, and/or technological aspects of that history would be considered an asset. Expertise in non-western film and media history is also welcome. The successful candidate will teach courses in cinema and related media at both the graduate and undergraduate level in CSI and History and will be involved in supervising and mentoring students.

2 Philosophy History of Modern Philosophy Assistant Professor Candidates must hold a Ph.D. by July 1, 2014 or shortly thereafter, and must demonstrate excellence in, and commitment to, both research and teaching. The successful candidate will have the ability to teach a broad range of courses from the introductory to advanced levels, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Jewish Philosophy, Grafstein Chair Assist/Assoc/Full Professor or until filled The successful candidate will be appointed both to the Department of Philosophy (51%) and to the Centre for Jewish Studies (49%). Candidates must hold a Ph.D. by July 1, 2014 or shortly thereafter, and must demonstrate excellence in, and commitment to, both research and teaching. The Chair holder will be familiar with the Jewish textual canon and its original languages. He or she will teach courses in the Department of Philosophy at the graduate and undergraduate level, and will contribute to the integration of Jewish philosophy into the undergraduate and graduate programs in Jewish Studies. Management Economics Assoc/Full Professor Closing Date: October 31, 2013 Applicants for this position must have a Ph.D. in Economics or a closely related discipline and must have an emerging or developed scholarly reputation. We are interested in individuals with excellent research skills and demonstrated excellence as an MBA instructor. Accounting Assist/Assoc Professor Closing Date: November 30, 2013 Applicants for the Assistant Professor position must have a Ph.D. in Accounting by September 1, 2014 or shortly thereafter. Applicants for the Associate Professor position must have an emerging or developed scholarly reputation. We are interested in individuals with an excellent and active research record and the ability to become an excellent instructor in our flagship MBA program or in our other programs. We are particularly interested in candidates who can successfully teach management accounting in our MBA program; however, we are also interested in applicants with other teaching interests. Physics Atmospheric / Ocean Theory Assistant Professor Closing Date: December 17, 2013 or until filled We seek candidates with a strong background in Physics and Mathematics and a Ph.D. in oceanography, atmospheric science or the geophysical sciences generally, by the date of appointment or shortly thereafter, with proven or potential excellence in both research and teaching. The new appointee will complement and have the opportunity to interact with existing physics faculty in the Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Physics group. 4 The Department of Physics and the School of the Environment at the University of Toronto are seeking a candidate with a focus on remote sensing of climate variables that can be used in highresolution models to improve scientific knowledge of the origins and nature of regional climate variability on decadal to centennial time scales, with an emphasis on processes occurring at high latitudes. Possible research areas include chemistry-climate feedbacks, clouds and aerosols, polar climate variability, sea-ice retreat, Arctic climate and cryosphere, atmosphere-cryosphere interactions, and carbon reservoirs. Historical & Cultural Studies, UTSC Gender, Immigration & Diaspora Assoc/Full Professor Closing Date: November 12, 2013 The successful candidate will develop the Department's strengths in women's and gender studies, immigration history, urban studies, and diaspora studies. Geographic Information Science & Spatial Analysis Lecturer Closing Date: November 12, 2013 We seek candidates with expertise in Geographic Information Science (GIS) who can develop and deliver courses in GIS and spatial analysis techniques and the acquisition and management of spatial data, and support the GIS needs of our undergraduate programs. An ability to teach cartography will be considered an asset. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Geography, strong communication and interpersonal skills, a demonstrated commitment to students' learning, and the skills required to achieve this goal through excellent teaching. Management, UTSC Accounting Assistant Professor Closing Date: December 2, 2013 We are interested in individuals with research interests in Financial Accounting, or more broadly in accounting-related research. In addition, applicants must have teaching interests in the area of Accounting. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Accounting at the time of appointment or shortly thereafter. Responsibilities include advancing the Accounting area's research agenda and teaching undergraduate students at the University of Toronto Scarborough.
