Frans Stadium on Wednesday. The Intimidators are 1-5 against Hickory this season after dropping the first two games of this series. Kannapolis and Hickory will play 22 times during the 2012 season. On The Mound: Scott Snodgress, 22, faces the Crawdads for the second time this season after walking a career-high four batters against Hickory in his first start of 2012. The Stanford University product owned a 2.98 ERA (17 ER/51.1 IP) as a starter with Advanced Rookie Great Falls in 2011, and he finished his season 3-0 with a 2.42 ERA (7 ER/26.0 IP) and 28 strikeouts over his last five starts. Baseball America rated Snodgress the No. 14 prospect in the Pioneer League last year. The White Sox drafted him out of Stanford in the fifth round in the June 2011 draft. Hickory s Jerad Eickhoff, 21, makes his third start of the year after working solely in relief during his professional debut in 2011 between the AZL Rangers and Short-Season Spokane. The right-hander struck out 22 while walking just four in 19.0 innings last season and held right-handed batters to a.098 average (4-41). The Rangers selected Eickhoff in the 15th round of the June 2011 draft out of Olney Central C.C. where he earned Great Rivers Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year honors as a sophomore. About Last Night: Hickory used a 4-run fifth inning to beat Kannapolis, 7-5, on Tuesday. The Intimidators took their first lead in the top of the fifth before the Crawdads jumped back in front in the bottom of the inning. Kannapolis scored three runs in the top of the fifth. David Herbek led off with a double down the right field line and advanced to third base on a Kyle Eveland groundout. Grant Bucker singled home Herbek and moved to third on a Kevin Smith double. Leighton Pangilinan singled to score Bucker, tying the game 3-3 and chasing Crawdads starter Victor Payano from the game. Rangel Ravelo followed with a sacrifice fly off reliever Nick McBride to give the Intimidators a 4-3 lead. Hickory returned fire with five straight hits to begin the bottom of the fifth inning, scoring four runs. After Chris Grayson's game-tying single to right field, Rougned Odor tripled down the right field line pulling Hickory ahead, 6-4, to chase Daniel Webb from the game. Hanser Alberto singled off reliever Jefferson Olacio to cash Odor for a 7-4 lead. The Big O: Jefferson Olacio matched a career-high with six strikeouts over four scoreless innings of relief. The 6 7 left-hander from the Dominican Republic gave up two hits and one walk while allowing one inherited runner to score. Olacio struck out six twice during his professional debut with the DSL White Sox in 2011. Wrangling in Rangel: Third baseman Rangel Ravelo has hit safely in his last nine games, going 15-35 (.429) in that span. Ravelo drove in two of Kannapolis five runs in Tuesday s loss at Hickory. Stuck in a Webb: Intimidators starter Daniel Webb suffered his second loss of the season on Tuesday, both of them coming to the Crawdads. Webb allowed seven runs (five earned) on seven hits with two walks and a strikeout. Zach Cone-head: Crawdads outfielder Zach Cone hit his second home run in as many days and third against the Intimidators this season in Tuesday s game. The Rangers drafted Cone in the first round last June.
