Meet the new Office. Get ready to help customers experience the most powerful Office yet, with smarter versions of their favourite applications and new cloud services that connect them to their documents and settings when and where they need them.

With the new Office, customers have the freedom to work the way they 1, 2, 3 choose, from PCs, Macs, and select mobile devices. Smarter Office applications Time-saving features help customers create, read, share, and connect to Office documents in new ways. Cloud-connected Wherever and whenever customers sign in to Office, their personal documents and settings are always available, just as they last left them. 1 Optimised for touch Experience Office at its best on devices running Windows 8 and Windows RT, 4 optimised for touch. 5

Smarter Office applications. New, time-saving features offer easy access to recent documents and templates in the cloud or from the newly designed Start screen. An enhanced reading experience, regardless of screen size, makes it simple to zoom in and out of content and to use touch to turn pages. Easily share Office documents and presentations in real time, with anyone who has a web browser even if they don t have Office. 1 Capture, organise, and share information in a digital notebook, accessible across devices, from virtually anywhere. 1 Office brings social networks and contacts together, including updates from Facebook and LinkedIn, so customers can stay in touch with friends and family. 1

Cloud-connected. Save documents to the cloud with SkyDrive to access them from virtually anywhere. 1 When customers are offline, documents are saved to a SkyDrive folder on their local PCs. After connecting to the Internet, documents sync automatically between their two SkyDrive folders. 1 Once signed into Office, customers personal settings and documents including most recently used files, favorite templates, and even custom dictionary entries are available, just as they last left them. Using Office Web Apps in SkyDrive, access, edit, and share work online from any device with an Internet connection. 1 7

Optimised for touch. Office responds to touch and stylus as naturally as to keyboard and mouse. So customers can easily create, edit, and read documents on touch-enabled devices, including those powered by Windows 8. With inking, handwrite email responses and convert them automatically to text.

Selling Office. From opening the conversation to closing the sale, this four-step sales process can help you sell the right Office with every PC or Mac purchase. 1 2 3 4 Always ask about Office. Qualify the number of devices. Recommend the right Office. Help your customers get started.

When is the best time to sell Office? Of the customers who leave a store with a new PC, but without Office, fewer than 20% will return to the same store to purchase it. So, the best time to sell Office is when your customers buy new PCs. Customers are 5 times more likely to buy Office if you recommend it. 21

1 Do you plan to use Word, Excel, and PowerPoint? Did you know Office isn t included on this PC? Always ask about Office. There s a great new Office that works best on your new device running Windows 8.

2 Qualify the number of devices. Do you have other PCs or Macs in your household that you d like to update to the latest Office? And are you planning to get any new devices in the next few months? 23

3 Recommend the right Office. If you need Office on this new PC 8 only, I recommend: Office Home & Student 2013 Includes 9, 10 Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote. For non-commercial use only. Office Home & Business 2013 Includes Word, 9, 10 Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook.

OR, if you need Office for multiple household devices, I recommend: Office 365 Home Premium It delivers the best value for your entire household on up to 5 PCs and Macs. Install the latest versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher, and Access. 6 Office on up to 5 household PCs or Macs and on select mobile devices. 3 times more SkyDrive online storage (+20 GB). 1 60 Skype world minutes per month. 1, 7 One annual subscription for your household. Ongoing product and service upgrades for as long as you have a subscription. 1 25

4 Help your customers get started. Whether you re purchasing a suite or a subscription, everything you need to get started with Office can be found inside the box. Getting started is a simple four-step process: 1. Go to office.com/setup. 2. Enter your product key. 3. Create or sign in to your Microsoft account. 4. Install Office.

27

Frequently asked questions. What is a Microsoft account? A Microsoft account formerly Windows Live ID is the combination of an email address and a password customers use to sign in to services like Hotmail and SkyDrive. For the new Office, a Microsoft account is used to set up, install, and manage Office software for an Office 365 subscription or an Office suite.

Are customer documents available offline as well as on SkyDrive? Yes. Even if Office is set to automatically save to SkyDrive.com, documents will also be saved to a local SkyDrive folder on your customers computer(s), so they can access them at any time without an Internet connection. When connected again, the SkyDrive folders will sync. What happens when an Office 365 subscription ends? As the expiration date approaches, customers will receive pop-up notifications from within their Office applications alerting them of the pending expiration. Customers can purchase a new subscription from you to continue to create and edit Office documents. 29

What happens if customers let their Office 365 Home Premium subscriptions expire or choose not to renew them? What are the options for continuing to use Office or work with documents? The Office applications on customers PCs or Macs will no longer have full functionality, but they ll be able to open, view, and print their documents. For full Office functionality, customers could: Return to an earlier version of Office. Buy the single PC version of Office. For basic editing, use the free Office Web Apps on SkyDrive. 1

Are the Office applications installed on a customer s PC or are they actually in the cloud? Regardless of which Office edition a customer buys (for example, Office 365 Home Premium or an Office suite such as Office Home & Student 2013), the applications are installed on the customer s PC or Mac. One of the benefits of an Office 365 Home Premium subscription is that customers can activate and deactivate Office on different PCs or Macs at office.com/myaccount on up to 5 PCs or Macs per household. 31
