Pupil Progress Tracking and Assessment Tool

Target Tracker Target Tracker is the market-leading pupil progress tracking and assessment tool, now used in 25% of English primary schools, where the software has become an integral part of day-today teaching and learning. Target Tracker plays a key role in improving school effectiveness by integrating software, expert consultancy, training, resources and support to enable schools to develop an on-going strategy for formative assessment and self-improvement. Formative Assessment Using the programmes of study for EYFS and the new primary curriculum, Target Tracker enables teachers to assess individuals or groups against skills and knowledge to show if they are beginning to grasp a concept, can independently and consistently apply it, or if they have mastered the learning and are able to apply it independently across different contexts and subjects. This is then displayed in gap analysis reports allowing teachers to adapt planning and pupils next steps to ensure they make good progress. Observations Throughout the school, teachers are able to attach photographs, notes and scans of work to pupils and statements, building up evidence of achievement for sharing with pupils and parents as well as for moderation purposes. This will soon be possible using an app for phones and tablet devices which is at the final stage of development. Statutory Data The software has been updated to reflect the new end of Key Stage Teacher Assessment Frameworks. Teachers are able to quickly and easily use their ongoing formative assessment to make their end of key stage decision. The statutory data return may then be created directly from the Target Tracker software. Summative Assessment Using formative assessments as a guide to inform your summative assessment gives a good indication of whether a pupil is on track to be secure by the end of their Key Stage. Steps data is then used to report on Age Related Expectation, Attainment and Progress. I just wanted to thank all of the support desk staff who helped us when we went into Ofsted Data meltdown last week. Target Tracker has shifted staff thinking about the use of data in moving children on. It has enabled us to have professional dialogue with each other, develop personalised learning and to see the Big Picture for every child. In my opinion, Target Tracker has found a practical way to plug the potential gap caused by the ending of traditional assessment levels.

Key Features Our software has proven benefits that are already crucial to the running of over 4,300 schools. Whatever your role, Target Tracker can support you in your work. Gap Analysis: Gaps in learning are easily identified (by subject, groups or pupil) ensuring activities can be effectively planned and focused. End of Year Outcomes and NAHT Key Performance Indicators: Assess against clearly defined objectives to show the variations in understanding or application. Identify Key Groups: Compare attainment and progress for selected pupils using built-in filters and user-defined groups. Record Mastery: Record the deepening and broadening of knowledge against curricular statements. Exemplification: View moderated examples of work for each subject in all age bands - ideal for recognising the standard of work required. Observations: Attach photographs and notes that evidence progress and build a personal learning journey that engages with parents. Progress Measures: Age bands relating to each academic year, with six steps of progression in each, make it easy to indicate the depth of knowledge each pupil has gained. Age Expectation Reports: Identify individual or groups of pupils, working at, above or below for single or multiple subjects including combined Reading, Writing and Maths percentage. Statutory Data Returns: Record against the new Teacher Assessment Frameworks and complete your data return. Additional Support As well as all the great benefits available in Target Tracker, EES for Schools also offers support to assist you with the software. Data Conversion Service: Save time and effort by asking us to transfer prior assessment data into Target Tracker for comparison and progress purposes. Helpline: Our dedicated telephone support is open 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Training: National coverage for continuous professional development either in school or at regional centres. Networks: Facilitated network sessions focusing on shared best practice, new and upcoming features and collaborative learning. Future-Proof: Our software is regularly updated to take account of new strategies and statutory education reporting requirements. Steps Navigating a new National Curriculum can be a challenge. Add to this the removal of a wellestablished assessment system and it becomes even tougher to monitor pupil attainment and progress. Developed in partnership with EES for Schools education consultants, Steps has been designed to support schools with formative assessment in the new National Curriculum and for use with the Target Tracker software. Drawing on Target Tracker s proven assessment model, Steps breaks the new curriculum into easy-tounderstand statements providing a manageable and powerful set of tools to enable teachers to carry out formative pupil assessment effectively.

Case Study - Lyons Hall Primary Target Tracker has been at the core of the way Lyons Hall Primary School, Braintree, approaches the education of its children. With an Outstanding Ofsted rating, the school has even been involved with the developmental process of Target Tracker as it evolved, helping to guarantee it is the best and most user-friendly service possible. Andrew Smith, Headteacher of Lyons Hall and his Deputy, Rachel Pritchard, believe Target Tracker has allowed the whole school to make progress as well as achieve superior standards in teaching and learning. Target Tracker gives us a wellrounded view of the school, and allows us to compare where we are, with where we want to be. It helps our teachers accurately gauge where the children are, as well as measure the effectiveness of the student interventions we have put in place. This ability to self-analyse is key during Ofsted inspections in terms of evaluating pupil progress, and Target Tracker allows schools to do this free from fuss. Ultimately, Target Tracker has put data into the hands of teachers at Lyons Hall Primary School, helping them to make informed decisions and create new learning opportunities for students. Teachers are constantly trying to juggle so many things all at once. Having a system in place which picks up on those struggling children means they can always be one step ahead.

Multi School Tracker Multi School Tracker is an intuitive system that automatically combines data for groups of schools, multi-academy trusts and local authorities to compare and analyse in order to create a big picture whilst still meeting individual needs. Multi School Tracker has a simple interface which allows users to compare and identify areas where good practice and success can be shared, as well as where schools can work together to improve. This approach is incredibly cost-effective for schools and results in real savings, in both time and budgets. Key Benefits: Data can be easily compared across schools to identify strengths for sharing best practice or issues that need support and development. Big picture comparison of attainment, progress and targets can be tracked for key groups including gender, Pupil Premium, SEN and ethnicity. Track children working at age-related expectations. Direct data extract from Target Tracker. Familiar look and feel to Target Tracker.

Case Study - Basildon Excellence Panel The Basildon Excellence Panel (BEP) is a school improvement vehicle which is run, managed, and made up of stakeholders from the schools themselves, Basildon Council, Essex County Council and the Basildon Education Services Trust (BEST). Patrick White is head of BEST and credits Multi School Tracker as part of its success. Part of our success is due to our credibility and attention to detail across our schools. This rigorous level of detail is something which, without the help of tools such as Multi School Tracker would have been significantly harder to achieve. The Basildon Excellence Panel has been using Multi School Tracker for over a year, significantly contributing to an improvement in pupil progress across all Basildon schools. The concept of Multi School Tracker was absolutely ideal for us with what we wanted to achieve. says Patrick. Multi School Tracker has enabled us to work as a cooperative family of schools. We can pinpoint those schools which have good processes and interventions in place to create good results. We then use this knowledge to ensure that other schools, which perhaps have less successful procedures in place, can adopt the same techniques to better improve student attainment. The results which have followed this year have been a significant part of what has made the Basildon Excellence Panel into the success it is today. We have been able to raise standards in Basildon schools within a very short period of time, says Patrick. In order to do that, we needed to fully understand the data in a common way. Not because understanding data automatically makes you understand schools better, but because the more knowledge you have, the better prepared you are to put systems in place which can bring about improvement.

Target Tracker Training Target Tracker is an intuitive and easy-to-use product. To maximise its potential we offer training to support users at all levels. We offer starter courses, courses for complex data analysis and prep for Ofsted. This can be as consultancy, facilitated network groups, in your school or in venues across the country.
