ADMISSIONS ANNOUNCEMENT 2015-16 Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) (Global Affairs) B.A. (Hons.) (G.A.) Students of Oxford Jindal Summer School O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) and Jindal School of International Affairs (JSIA) JGU is a non-profit university recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and established by the Haryana Private Universities (Second Amendment) Act, 2009, in Sonipat, Haryana (National Capital Region of Delhi). The mission of JGU is to promote globally oriented learning and research in the social sciences. JGU strives to be a world class centre for inter-disciplinary knowledge, the first of its kind in India. It has five schools: Jindal School of International Affairs; Jindal Global Law School; Jindal Global Business School; Jindal School of Government and Public Policy; Jindal School of Liberal Arts & Humanities. JSIA is India s first global policy school. JSIA has been offering a 2-year Masters degree in Diplomacy, Law and Business - M.A. (DLB) since 2011. The B.A. (Hons.) (G.A.) has been designed as India s first ever inter-disciplinary undergraduate degree to train students for international careers through basic learning in world affairs. Programme Modalities The B.A. (Hons.) (G.A.) is a 3-Year Programme. It is an on-campus residential, full-time, five-day-a-week degree programme. Student graduates with B.A. (Hons.) (G.A.) at the end of 3 years. Optional Language Training: Student can opt for an additional Intensive Foreign Language Training Certificate after graduation to become eligible to apply to American universities for a Masters degree. Progression to M.A. (DLB) B.A. (Hons.) (G.A.) students who graduate at the end of 3 years will have a special opportunity to progress directly to JSIA s Masters in Diplomacy, Law and Business - M.A. (DLB) programme, subject to high meritorious academic performance in the B.A. (Hons.) (G.A.). Those who progress to the M.A. (DLB) can opt for a second M.A. from Queen Mary University of London, UK; University of Leeds, UK; or University of Warsaw, Poland. Careers for B.A. (Hons.) (G.A.) A Career Director assists students in finding the right internships in the United Nations system, other intergovernmental, regional and non-governmental organisations, financial institutions, think tanks and diplomatic missions. The curriculum of the B.A. (Hons.) (G.A.) includes a mandatory guided internship requirement that prepares students for careers in the multiple opportunities afforded by ever-expanding career streams like Peace and Conflict Resolution, International Justice, International Economic Development, Humanitarian Relief, Human Rights Advocacy, Political and Economic Risk Analysis etc. Graduates of JSIA go on to become versatile international affairs professionals. JSIA has a number of student exchange programmes with some of the top schools in international affairs. Taiwan Education Centre JSIA hosts India s first Taiwan Education Centre, which has been established by National Tsing Hua University of Taiwan with the backing of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of China (Taiwan). The Centre is directed by Taiwanese specialists in Mandarin Chinese language and imparts beginners, intermediate and advanced-level Mandarin lessons to students from JGU.

Admission Procedure Applicants to the B.A. (Hons.) (G.A.) at JSIA must have successfully passed the examination at the 10+2 level of schooling or its equivalent. Students who will complete 10+2 in 2015 can also apply. This course is open to students from any stream including Arts, Commerce, Science etc. All applicants need to fill the B.A. (Hons.) (G.A.) admissions form, which includes an essay exam, and pay an application fee. Both can be done through the JSIA website at http://www.jsia.edu.in/admissions. Students with SAT or ACT scores need not take the JSIA essay exam. Early applicants will get priority in receiving scholarships. Fees Apply online to JSIA on the prescribed JSIA application form by giving a DD of Rs. 500/- in favour of O.P. Jindal Global University payable at Sonipat or by making the payment online. Programme Fee: 3 Years B.A.(Hons.) (G.A.) Programme Fee: Rs. 2.5 lakhs per annum (unchanged for all 3 years) Fee for Food, Accommodation and Laundry: Rs. 1.75 lakhs per annum (Subject to change after 1st year) Total: Rs. 4.25 lakhs per annum Optional Language Training: 4th Year B.A.(Hons.) (G.A.) + Foreign Language Certificate Programme Fee: Rs. 2.5 lakhs Scholarships O.P. Jindal Outstanding Merit Scholarships The top five essay exam scorers who enroll in the B.A. (Hons.) (G.A.) programme will be awarded the O.P. Jindal Outstanding Merit Scholarship of variable amount. Shallu Jindal Outstanding Women Scholarships The aim of the scholarship, which is of variable amount, is to nurture, encourage and support outstanding women to enter the field of international studies. Savitri Jindal Merit-cum-Means Fellowships This fellowship is for outstanding students who may not otherwise be able to afford the full fees of the B.A. (Hons.) (G.A.). Naveen Jindal Young Global Scholarships The aim of the scholarship, which is of variable amount, is to nurture, encourage and support young global leaders. It will be awarded on the basis of an independent selection process, which includes an assessment of the candidates grades in his/her 10+2 level of schooling or its equivalent, extra-curricular achievements etc. Haryana Domicile Meritorious Haryana domicile students qualify for fee concession to study at JSIA.
